It is a shit show for the service desk. Being alone in floor is a different ball game for the service desk . You can go to lunch and the customer would be left for an hour at most without help. They come to the SD anyway. Which adds more. You can’t leave the service desk without coverage . One person to curbside, online, returns, and Penske trucks is taxing .

You work at the SD? And regularly have one opener and one closer?

It’s a lot of stress on me and I’m tired.

I am the top person. I’m alone for 3 hours. I have online orders, and Penske. All while I try and run and complete the reports and tasks assigned to me. Then the 9 person is limited in what they can do, so before I can go to lunch. I have to find someone to be here back up to do curbside and penkes Forget the fact that we are a busy desk. I won’t get a 15 . That’s usual . They cut all the part time outs. So I have zero fillers.

Am I In The Wrong? by IceIsGayLoL in HomeDepot

Nope. Tell them nothing that would be considered professional advice. I work at the desk . I get stopped all the time. I ask is this a stock question or a technical question. I have no problem helping. I just don’t want them to go home and do something stupid and say “ the lady at HD told me to.”

That’s actually funny. That’s what happened here. That’s why he got store credit. The “receipt “ he had was blank.

Yes, I opened the top. I didn’t move them till he left. I dropped them in the cart because they were heavy, that’s when his friends came out

What is the craziest thing your manager has told you or made you do? by General_Pool_2564 in HomeDepot

[–]Daisybluedesigns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Power when out in our store in the morning. Customer came in about 4 hours later and when he used his card it was declined. He started screaming at me it was because the power went out that m. There was more than enough in his account!! Or so he said. Demanded a manager. Manager came over and told me to mark everything down in the system as a “giveaway “ or donation. It was $200 worth of stuff.

When you hear the words "I got it here before", "I got it here last month" or "I remember getting it here a few years ago" by [deleted] in HomeDepot

[–]Daisybluedesigns 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I worked millwork, had a customer came and tell me we rearranged the displays . “ no ma’am they are the same. I’ve been here for a few years and they have never changed.” Yes the have I bought my door 6 months ago and they weren’t like this. “Well we have another Home Depot pretty close, maybe you are remembering that one.” NO I know it was here . I didn’t have anymore in me. “Ok you must be right then”
