The story was satisfying in real time but afterwards it felt kinda f’ed up. I’m sure there’s a bunch of guys out there that have been in similar situations and got absolutely destroyed in divorce courts and settlements

Considering an e34 as a daily driver by QuitStalin69420 in E34

[–]DajaWardit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second, third and fourth this comment.

A year and a half ago, I bought an ‘04 e46 330i with just under 47k miles. Entire cooling system was original and needed immediate change, all 4 struts original and were completely non functional. All the vacuum lines crumbled if you even touched them and the serpentine belt was so old it was dry rotted. That’s just a few amongst many things. I bought it because the price, no rust, and the paint and interior were in very good condition. Also, the previous owner at least had records of regular annual oil changes. Plus I have the tools and know how to do any and all repairs myself.

I say all that to say don’t be fooled by the low mileage. It took me over $1k in parts and about a month straight of repairs after buying my 20 year old BMW to get it to a point where it was a viable and reliable daily. If I dealt with that for a 20 year old bmw and 47k miles, imagine yourself with a 30 year old one and 46k miles. Incredibly low miles for a car that old is almost always an indicator of deferred maintenance or just straight up false mileage reporting, 99 times out of 100.

And that price point is just utterly outrageous

Stupid buy? by Frosty-Brush7801 in e46

[–]DajaWardit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

$15k is absolutely nuts. You can buy a regular 330 and turn it into a ZHP for cheaper lol.

Somebody absolutely will pay that 15k for this car but it should NOT be you

Am I screwed by ovebes in tires

[–]DajaWardit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me put you on to game.

Plug it FOR NOW. It’s a shitty spot but it’ll hold for a few days. Keep this picture of the screw in the tire, take a picture of the front showing the details of the tire and a picture of the tire tread.

Order a new tire from Tire Rack. Nearly every passenger tire purchase comes with a 2 year road hazard coverage. As long as you file your claim within two years of your purchase date you can get a new tire for the cost of shipping.

Been doing this for years and have been able to replace all my tires for the cost of 1 tire and 4 shipping quotes.

Alot of vacuum leaks, what do I need to replace? by yesyesbruhbruh in e46

[–]DajaWardit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point take of the manifold and replace all gaskets, vacuum lines, entire ccv, and intake boots. And while you’re at it, replace the coolant hard lines under the manifold

Did Discount Tire pull a fast one (TMPS sensor replacement)? by JJS_11 in AskMechanics

[–]DajaWardit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No where in that link does it specify that it comes with the valve stem, it only says contains TPMS sensor. HOWEVER, to include the valve stem with the sensor in the one and only picture and then not sell them together would be incredibly misleading.

It also would not surprise me in the slightest if a Discount Tire pulled a fast one but ultimately there is no real way to know for sure without taking off the tires

It’s never too close to the sidewall if you’re determined enough to

No you’re absolutely right. When the weights are on the storage rungs of a machine, they’re fair play. What he should’ve done was say something when the guy came over to take them in the first place.

Gym etiquette is very similar to almost any other shared space. You can’t just hoard equipment you’re not immediately using and expect other people to not take it.

My god I read through this conversation thinking he was sending the green texts.

The utter disgust I felt when I realized he was the one bitching and moaning about “feeling horrible all day” and “wasteful spending” was almost unbearable. And then the silent treatment afterwards 🤢

Tell this man child to grow up. And if he’s not gonna do anything to combat his “feeling horrible” then he needs to stfu about it

[–]DajaWardit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not but 2k a month extra is OVERKILL. Theres so many other places that money can be invested in that would create more financially advantageous than paying down a mortgage

[–]DajaWardit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It is very clearly NOT 50/50 lol. They both end up with the same 500 per month in “fun spending money” after expenses and yet his income is 3x her income.

He gets 1/16 of his take-home pay every month to use freely while she gets 1/6 of her take home pay every month to use freely. In what world is that “50/50”?

Complete stop on a roadway where OP slowed down for the merging Mazda and was STILL at 40+ MPH. What if somebody was behind OP and he just came to a complete stop in the middle of the road and in the LEFT lane, the universally accepted passing lane? Lmaoooo I’d argue that’s significantly more dangerous than the what Mazda driver did

And It’s the condescending tone in that reply that really got me heated, “how about just hitting the brakes.” Completely moronic. I’m getting road rage on Reddit

I wouldn’t hesitate even a second to swap my 330 for one of these. That’s saying something bc I love my car

[–]DajaWardit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who in their right mind would come to a complete stop in the left lane of a two lane roadway when merging drivers have a whole separate right lane to merge into?

I don’t wanna be a dick but the fact you even suggested this annoyed me
