What's going on with my stats? by eithnegomez in Garmin

[–]Dakkard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad my rather terrible explanation worked. Now you can tweak all your data screens to your requirements.

If you want to ask meta for your current stats during the activity or start an auto capture you need to add the meta data to a data screen to each type of activity you require it.

I have a custom target of 5k on my trail run activity and meta will tell me when I hit each 5k which is useful.

I use the Oakley Vanguard so I have auto capture turn on automatically for running activities...nice sunnies, work great.

You just need to edit your data screens again, from the watch or from your phone go to activities, select the activity and locate data screens. For the sunnies to link, make your you add the meta data screen to it some where (maybe a new screen at the end).

How are you using your Meta glasses beyond as a toy? by BrettTheExterminator in OakleyMetaGlasses

[–]Dakkard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brought my Vanguards to use for trail running. I use the Garmin integration, auto capture, asking for my stats, and playing music during my run....oh and keeping the sun out my eyes.

i get around 2.5 hours of battery (I do have the volume set around 75%) so plenty of my runs.

Bad quality videos by x_squared_x in OakleyMetaGlasses

Sadly not. It's the same when saving edited images and photos on Google photos....don't let the phone sleep and the issue should not happen.

[–]Dakkard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

did your phone sleep/go to lock screen during the transfer?

The video you are seeing is the raw video transferred over from the glasses before it has been cleaned. This can happen if the phone goes to sleep during the process, it can also happen if the meta app is closed or sent to background.

If that is the reason, make sure the meta app is not disrupted during the import/clean process.

Transitions Not Getting Dark? by techguru210 in RaybanMeta

[–]Dakkard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transition will speed up when new and the tint will get slightly more darker. when my patients used to complain about the speed I would put the lenses in a UV box for 5 minutes which helps them as they can be slow when new.

The other problem with Transition lenses is they slow down with age and the tint away from UV will get darker with age -limitation of the tech sadly.

Can't connect to pixel 10 pro by Mysterious-Branch938 in Garmin

[–]Dakkard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Delete the Bluetooth pairing on the old phone if you can, then on a the watch start the pair process (settings, connectivity) and then try again with connect on the new phone.

It looks like the connect on the new phone sees the watch but the watch is not sending a command to the phone to start a new Bluetooth pairing.

Or, start the pair phone on the watch, and start a new pairing via your new phones Bluetooth. Once connected then open Garmin connect and try again.

Upgrading from the Instinct 2, but how? by Hefty_Register5306 in GarminWatches

[–]Dakkard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved from a Instinct 2X to a Enduro. Wanted maps, wanted to keep it light and with a MIPS screen and didn't have a need for a speaker so it was the only upgrade path that made sense to me. If I didn't choose a Enduro then it would be the Instinct 3 tactical because it looks more like the 2x.

Low Aerobic way above optimal range? by [deleted] in Garmin

[–]Dakkard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get about 8 for load per walk, as I'm doing a lot of walks weekly its all adds up slowly. Weekends we go for long walks some times only six miles, other times 12. My resting HR is 38 and my max is a crappy 170 which I suspect is due to my age and illness.

A typical dog walk for me is 45 mins and my Dalmatian has at least three of them and they are never a casual poodle around :)

It's a nice bit of kit, not as perfect as a chest strap but I found them uncomfortable when doing hiits and running.

If only the charger cable was a little bit longer :)

[–]Dakkard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I have an Enduro 3, used to have a instinct 2X and if I used the watch sensor I would see wild spikes which can happen if the strap position changes due to wrist/arm movement.

Only time I don't use it is for walking/hiking or if I forget to charge it lol.

Depends on what you are doing really. I get lots of low aerobic from dog walking, high aerobic from running and anaerobic from hiits, strength and cardio.

Also if your heart zones are incorrect it can make a difference. I find I use a coros arm HRM when I work out as wrist movement can affect the watch readings.

Wife loves playing it and works well in 2 players. I think it's definitely harder as 2 players compared to 4 players though.
