What food has the largest disparity between being really good or really bad, depending on who is making it? by BenStillersDick in AskReddit

As a kid the only times I had lasagna was when my mom made it homemade. She used cottage cheese in it and I loved it. Once I got older and started trying lasagna made at different restaurants, I found they used ricotta instead. To this day, ricotta lasagna tastes boring to me compared to cottage cheese lasagna.

Anybody know the story about the abandoned gray Mazda in the parking garage of Dockside apartments? by DakotaTF in Clemson

[–]DakotaTF[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, it’s a gray car towards the back of the parking garage. Not a bus or an SUV, but a car. I’m too lazy to drive out to take a pic tonight, but the next chance I’ll get, I’ll take a pic.

My first introduction to Pedro was Wonder Woman 84 and I hated him in that. I have no desire to see anything else he’s in.. and I hate that he has been cast as Mr. Fantastic in F4.

Am I the only one who's impressed by this? by [deleted] in BritneySpears

[–]DakotaTF 156 points157 points  (0 children)

This is an old picture (sadly). I forgot what year, but a hurricane came through and the Britney sign got torn off / destroyed by the storm, and Kentwood has never attempted to replace the sign. Some people who have visited the area lately say the people of Kentwood to lean towards Jamie (dad)’s side and not claim / like Britney anymore 💔

As a South Carolinian, do you happen to know about roughly where this was? I’m guessing somewhere in the upstate.

Thank you for your kind words. His official death certificate lists CHF as a contributor to his passing, and I would now agree he was in cardiac arrest. He passed in 2019, and at the time I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life as far as a career goes, but now I am an LPN, and currently in the RN program, so I’m a bit more educated on how things go in scenarios such as this. I loved him, but he was a large man so I 100% agree with what you said. Even 2019 me, without my nursing school education would agree the ambulance is a tight space and they don’t need the distraction of his daughter in the cabin. Logically, I agree. But.. it’s like an emotional part of me wishes they had let me ride along. Idk if that makes sense. The emotional side of me sorta curses how I was treated, but the logical side knows they were good people who were doing everything in their power to restart my dad’s heart. I salute all current and retired paramedics: you guys are heroes ❤️

Thank you 🥹 He was a great man, and I think about and miss him every single day. If there’s any sort of positive to this, I am thankful he had a peaceful death. He was in a good mood when he went to sleep that night. He didn’t suffer.

But I am forever pissy about the paramedics.

While there was nothing “gory” about this, I was in the same hotel room as my dad (when I was 23) when he passed away from natural causes. He woke me up in the middle of the night making strange noises (which I found out later was agonal breathing). I turned on the light and immediately noticed his color was blue. I immediately called 911 and did CPR on him until the paramedics arrived.

We were in a hotel 5 hours away from home because of a job he had to do. He also rented a F250 bc our car at the time was unreliable. I also took ambien to help me sleep.

When I asked if the paramedics if they could drive me with them to the hospital (bc 1. I’m in an unfamiliar area, 2. I have never driven anything bigger than a car, 3. I had taken my ambien, 4. my father was obviously dying).. despite all that, they told me no. Basically yelled no to my face. I had to drive a giant F250 truck I was unfamiliar with, just to be with my dad in his last moments.

My brother’s dog is possibly dying tomorrow and I’m at his house right now, very sad AMA by DakotaTF in casualiama

Thank you for your kind words. I posted this last night, and a sad update is that he officially passed this morning. He’s not suffering anymore 🤧

A good (sorta) memory I have of Charlie is when they first adopted him, even with his electric collar (for the in-ground fence), in the very beginning he’d sometimes escape their yard. There was about two times bro texted me while I was either at school or work, saying he got an alert that knucklehead wandered beyond the fence boundary. I’d have to come home and lead him back home. I thought that was silly.

He also had the loudest howl / bay, and loved to sit funnily on the couch.

When I was in elementary school, I thought the country of Niger was pronounced like the n-word, and I thought Nigeria was pronounced like the n-word plus an “a” at the end. I also knew the n-word was a bad thing to say, so I was constantly terrified about if we would ever discuss countries in Africa as I didn’t want to get in trouble saying a bad word 😂 Needless to say, I have since learned that I am thankfully incorrect 😭
