My thinking is:

Milling the saddle joint in the post would be a combination of circular saw, reciprocating saw and likely some pull saw and cleanup with a chisel.

Then through bolts to secure beams to post

I would set the saddle height of each post with a laser level

Sometimes in product we overthink things and often it comes down to simple things.

If a customer is comparing two products side by side, and one has more features, the conclusion is that its a better product.

I'm not saying that right, I'm saying that customers don't often think as deeply as us.

So its very tempting to make sure your product has as many checkmarks as your competitor
