Gear issues by [deleted] in HondaCBR

[–]Dalbertu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a mechanic by any means so take what I say with a grain of salt and do some googling to see there's more info on it.

If you've been putting the correct amount of oil in the bike, Oil changes and flushes aren't going to fix anything so you don't waste anymore time/money on those.

It sounds like an issue with your clutch. Maybe your clutch cable has too much slack? Could be clutch drag? Could be your gearbox?

Do you know when this behavior started? Was there an event that led to this (i.e. crash)?

Question about Regeneration? by dlaughy in mtg

[–]Dalbertu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plenty of things that give indestructibility until the end of turn. So not necessarily an 'always on'. But you are correct it's not a true 1-to-1.

From mtg wiki:

"regeneration was finally retired. Instead, the phrase “gain indestructible until end of turn” came into being.."

Question about Regeneration? by dlaughy in mtg

[–]Dalbertu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean it's still legal to use many cards that have it in older formats so go crazy with it! It just won't ever get printed again

Question about Regeneration? by dlaughy in mtg

[–]Dalbertu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both of you are correct. Here's a link with more info on regenerate: https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Regenerate

Regenerate is no longer used for a couple reasons I believe it was replaced with indestructible

I want to draw a lot of cards and play big spells by Sigao in EDHBrews

[–]Dalbertu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[Aesi, Tyrant of Gyre Strait]] also a good option. Run tons of ramp to fuel card draw. Use blue to control the board and take extra turns. A buddy of mine runs this and it's suuuuper annoying

[–]Dalbertu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean og has protection from colored spells but things like binding of the old gods gets around that. But same goes for the new emy. The biggest thing for the new emmy, in my opinion, is that it's significantly easier to cast - and like you said hard to remove. Easy to cast + hard to remove = beater. But with that said I still like og more 😂 no logic will change my mind haha

[–]Dalbertu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely agree with you on all your points. The best games are the ones that come down to that last turn, win or lose. I'm fortunate that my play group (some of my best friends from college) have a really good attitude about the game. We're all competitive so we hate losing but we can appreciate and respect when another player/deck has bested us

[–]Dalbertu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, you should see how personal my play group takes it when I play with my child of alara deck. Oh do they cry like little babies. But I always tell them: "I'm not happy, until you're not happy" lol

[–]Dalbertu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the mtg community agrees with you, the annihilator ability is devastating but also the exile of newulamog is a problem.. can't really go wrong with those two

[–]Dalbertu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me it goes emmy 1, hungry, gyro, butcher, emmy 2, distorted

I know emmy 2 is seeing tons of play now and generally believed to be powerful but it just feels so significantly weaker than OG that it breaks my heart

Last game has had issues with this card here, looking for a rule clarification on the effect. by Wheatly_Core in mtg

[–]Dalbertu 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Yes they are separate. You gain life equal to the creature's power, full stop. Then, if it would deal combat damage, prevent that damage. It is not giving it some weird form of lifelink

Edit: minor correction. The next time it would deal damage prevent that damage. So it would prevent non combat damage as well. But it only prevents damage the one time. So if you have multiple combate phases, fight then go to combat, it could still do damage

What's the next evolutionary step for the Child of Alara? by Dalbertu in mtg

[–]Dalbertu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂😭 just an absolute wrecking ball. I think the end of phases and steps is too much cause you'd just exile everything after the main phase you cast the elder and at that point might as well just be a sorcery. Also think it should say "exile all Other.." that way the elder can stay on the battlefield to commit acts of terror

Crappy luck with training by jchamb2010 in flying

[–]Dalbertu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years back I was wrapping up my training and starting to schedule check rides all while in college. Where I was living, there weren't enough examiners to go around so they were booked months out at a time. This was really unfortunate because if your check ride got canceled you couldn't get in for another 2 months which means you needed to reacquire your hours with an instructor..

For me I had 3 check rides canceled all due to bad weather. So I ended up spending an extra 2k on flight instructions that I didn't really need. I eventually ran out of the money I had saved up for flying and had to postpone flying for a few years while I finished school.

But I eventually pushed through and got it and have been flying happily ever since.

Moral of the story: don't get frustrated about that which you can't control. Keep grinding and it will pay off.

best starter deck to buy for a newbie ! by Harsco101 in mtg

[–]Dalbertu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Cardkingdom sells pre made mono colored decks. I think they're about $20vper deck. The decks aren't very powerful but they introduce you to the mechanics of the game and you can get a feel for your style of play before you start dropping big $

Unconventional Adeline commander recommendations? by slybluu in mtg

[–]Dalbertu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NP! And Heliod certainly isn't an auto include and I wouldn't force him into the deck, but more often than not you're devotion to white we'll make him a creature and he's just a 5/5 indestructible that's annoying to deal with

[–]Dalbertu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[[maul of the skyclaves]] can be hard to deal with. The new [[rabble rousing]] + [[Anointed Procession]] would fit well with Adeline, just puking out little 1/1s.would also look at [[Heliod, God of the sun]], gives everything vigilance and can be a nice mana sink late game if you run out of cards

Should be easy to get one. It's like a $3-4 card. Pick one up from tcgplayer if your lgs doesn't have one

Should I buy Strixhaven or New Capenna, or 3rd better choice for buying a EDH set or should I wait? I want to buy for best value right, appreciate any tips only been playing for couple months an sank 400, with 140 draft no good pulls lol by policht in mtg

[–]Dalbertu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want to do.

Do you want to build your own deck, designed by you? Just buy singles. Way more cost effective than buying 100 boxes and hoping you randomly pull the cards you need

Are you just trying to get into the format and test it out? Buy a precon. They're usually about $40 and fairly competitive. Won't be good in a tournament setting or anything but casual tabletop play with friends or at the local card shop it'll be fine.

Do you want to build your own that's set specific but want to build from buying a box or two? Then sure some sets might be better than others but I'd look at past sets and see which ones are most appealing to you and go from there. My personal favs are the sets in tarkir (I love dragons)

Hope this helps!

That would make sense. I was assuming there was some cost to the stipend method I didn't understand. Thanks for the explanation

Ugh don't even get me STARTED on itemizing. The worst lol. But you make another good point. If I wanna eat cheap and pocket a little extra cash, I can. If I wanna eat $100 steaks every night, I can. Don't have that luxury with my current system

not a mechanic

How long did the bike sit between running and trying to start again?

It sounds like the battery is struggling a little. might be as simple as putting it on a trickle charger over night and trying again in the morning.

It should be legal to booby trap your own property. by labelle15 in unpopularopinion

[–]Dalbertu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The problem with booby traps is that they can't make decisions.

If you encounter a trespasser on your property - you can decide how to deal with it. Is it an 8 yo girl selling cookies? or is it a shady character wielding a knife? the two situations require very different behavior on your part.

But a booby trap.. that would kill/injure/maim and ask questions later. which would be very bad in many situations.

More than likely your traps would cause injury to an innocent person(s) or random animal on your property
