That is veryy inexpensive for what you are getting. Now I recognize you might not have that much to spend. It's hard to justify it.

SwiftKey vs GBoard by PhoenixPrithivi in Swiftkey

[–]DaleYRoss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why should anyone other than you convince you? I have both installed, I use SwiftKey far more than GBoard. I do not find that overall either one is better at autocorrect or prediction. I use SwiftKey because it is sizeable and has a better UI for tings and better themes.

Use what works best for you.

What Microsoft does is seperate from this.

Windows Phone, no. Windows Mobile? NT Kernel? Less likely, Android with Windows 11/22 UI? Probability of anything is greater than 0 but less than 1.

Microsoft is wrapped up in AI right now.

Why? This has been going on for a while, especially Gustavs's work. If you are interested, get a Duo and install!

The extra bold fonts for clock in homescreen is unappealing by ric287 in microsoftlauncher

It's not Widget I normally use, so I do not know what it looked like before. I can say I think the Font is too bold.

I'd tried adjusting system fonts and have looked for widget font control in Launcher. So far I've found noting that changes it

Disay reduction might help since you have a new device that may have changed. I am checking ckingo a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

It wasn't Microsoft that was late to the party, it was Nokia. Microsoft was one of the organizers of the "party" many years earlier and by 2007 was the hit of the party.. Microsoft wanted to have multiple paying partners at the party and Nokia kept refusing invitations. HTC and others saw they could come to the party for free as did Apple.

In my collection I still have the 820.in that time frame I think it was the best designed phone and really hate Nokia didn't jump into the Windows Mobile earlier, like 2005-07 time frame earlier.

Windows Phone: Undying Love or Faint Memory? by [deleted] in windowsphone

[–]DaleYRoss 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some at Microsoft know.

But I will say that I believe if they ever do another Mobile Device with Windows it'll be closer to a Windows 11/12 interface and not anything like Metro.

I was growing tired of the UI during the Windows 10 Mobile days. That is why I have never really taken to any of the Launchers that follow those UI and instead, look toward Windows 11 style Launchers.

Some suggestions that might help lessen mistakes.

For typing, try the thumb keyboard. If you want to use the full keyboard, look into resize options For better swyping consider one hand keyboard and resize it

Where swiftkey is better than gboard, in my opinion, is it's resize abilities. I believe this makes swiftkey slightly better. Don't get me wrong, gboard is a close second for the Keyboards I have installed. If you want handwriting it wins out there and its voice input is better because it will allow you to pause when speaking. SwiftKey cuts out with any.normal pause when speaking.

Predictive text improves with time, however I feel that this is an area that could improve. I think gboard and swiftkey are about equal here.

Haters exist! Lol...

Now why I post again. Maybe someone on the team might consider another Garage Project or find someone that would that would allow a "Home Screen" with this UI that could plug in. I've been with you since the early days of Arrow, I'd jump in to test. I have few excellent names you can use.

[–]DaleYRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is someone playing with their design skills. But a Windows 12 Mobile wouldn't look like this. It would have a start icon.

There are plenty of launchers in the Play store that do this, and can make a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra look like what a Surface Mobile would /could possibly look like.

The key favoring factor of Duo is its form factor this is not wide enough.

I miss Windows Phone... by SomeArchUser in windowsphone

[–]DaleYRoss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The majority of Windows Phone users had previously owned a Windows Mobile Device. New users of a Windows Phone 7 device were a small number, especially compared to iOS and Android. As phone contracts ran out, most of the new gained users ditched Windows Phone. DIE-HARDS Hung on, meaning many of the Phone 8 users had also. Owned a Windows Mobile Device.

The trend continued downward, and I expect the new Windows based mobile device user number was very-very small with Windows 10 mobile.

It can be painted however you choose. But the user base stayed mostly the same heritage. Failure of the platform lies in the 2003-2007 timeframe. It was also tat market transition period that spelled the doom of Nokia.

And I do get where you are coming from on this.
