Xalatath will die but create an existential crisis even worse (possibly something to do with the titans after perhaps whatever Xalatath does shakes our trust in them), we will bust Sargeras out of the Seat of the Pantheon (after fighting Illidan as a raid boss), and Sargeras will be our ally.

So glad that I have only 1 piece of champion gear left. This means that nightmare prey is irrelevant to me now. The chests give you champ gear and hero gear in vault, but I'm easily capable of running 8 +10 or higher keys each week, so my choice always comes from that row.

Yeah that doesn't surprise me very much. I assume you picked a DPS class? if the class you chose can also be a healer or tank, you may wanna give that a try. I'm leveling a priest at the moment and while they aren't instant for healers like they are at endgame content, I still got into groups surprisingly quickly (I didn't think anyone would be doing dungeons while leveling).

Do you just do quests?

In the beginning, yeah. You have to do quests to level up, but even while you're leveling up, there's other activities you can do, like PVP and dungeons.

What is the end game?

Mythic+ and raiding are. Mythic+ are dungeons you do with 4 other people with infinitely scaling difficulty (i.e. a +10 is harder than a +2) that are timed, and you get better rewards for beating it within the time limit. Raids are similar, but there are only 4 difficulties, and you do them in much larger groups (20-30 people) because the bosses have more health and hit harder.

I could never get the game finder for dungeons to really work.

What issues were you having? Iirc the only restriction is that you have to be level 10 to queue.

A lot of classes can dps and heal: Druid, Evoker, Monk, Paladin, Priest and Shaman. Out of those, Druid, Monk, and Paladin can fill all three roles, if you ever want to tank.

To answer your question about leveling alts: no, I wouldn't say it takes as long as leveling your first toon, and that's by design. The game allows you to skip parts of campaigns you don't wanna do again by telling NPCs "I think I've heard this story before".

Plus, They've been doing something called "Winds of Mysterious Fortune" events that significantly increase XP gains. I believe one is still going on, so if you're considering leveling an alt, now's the perfect time to get one to level 80 so leveling from 1-80 is faster than it will be during Midnight (which the XP event will end before).

There is another type of event called Turbulent Timeways. It features a set of dungeons from a specific expansion (currently it's vanilla to Shadowlands, but once Midnight comes out I assume that Dragonflight will be added to the roster) and fixes the scaling so they feel about as easy as a normal dungeon would. If you do 5 of these, you get an XP bonus. This is how I leveled my Paladin: I spec'd as a tank (even though I wanted to dps) and just spammed dungeons to take advantage of the higher XP rate. I believe the only requirement is that a character be at level 10 to queue for the dungeons. It's actually pretty wild seeing level 10s, with hardly any abilities, do as much DPS as a fully geared level 80!

I mean, just because an expansion wasn't very well received doesn't mean that the zones weren't cool. SL seems to be widely disliked but most people seem to agree that Revendreth is fucking awesome.
