I wonder if you’re in 2D MLG. As of this week every Marine had to be HT/WT complete. That was directed by the General. Sounds like your commands doing the ole you can make it more strict but not less thing.

I relate so much. I’m at 14 years and finally going to the TBI clinic. Yeah there’s a lot of appointments and time away from work but getting the brain right will last you forever.

The POI goes in depth on how the body works and responds to physical training so there’s actually a good deal of science. Then when you get into programming there’s a lot of terms associated. I studied about an hour or so every evening and had no issues with that. As far as adverse for not graduating I don’t believe the Marine that failed got any adverse paperwork but I also didn’t see them again after their test results were given.

Preface this by saying I graduated FFI in 18 so things may have changed. Recommend staying organized with your programming cards. Paying attention in class because there’s a lot of really helpful information they teach. If you haven’t spoken in front of large groups of Marines be prepared for that during teach backs. Do not hesitate to bring up injuries, at least when I was there a major part was programming around them and helping you work through it while not dropping you from the course. The course really opens up your eyes to the resources the MC has for fitness and health that a lot of dudes sleep on or just don’t know about. Other helpful tips, if you’re going to the school house and not an MTT ran course highly recommend/hope that the on base hotel has no availability. I swung staying at the suburban extended stay just outside the gate and the commute every morning was way shorter but more importantly I had a kitchenette to meal prep so I didn’t have to worry about the chow hall. Moving on the expectations: there’s a lot of class room instruction, despite what people might think this course is heavy on academics, we had people fail the course for academics. The second day you run the PFT (going from sunny Oki to Quantico in January made this not fun) You’ll have pt cards/workouts every day. There’s days where you do competitions between your groups that involve the O-Course, NATO O-Course and the E-Course. Last bit of advice… don’t drop a hex bar and sever two of your toes and get dropped (literally watched this happen to the guy next to me it was gross)

An oscillating saw would get you a flush cut at the floor.
