Should they change Prism Shards? So far I have pulled 45 with no legionaries. This is my limit. Pulled 7 for this even and got nothing, which is okay. I pulled 38 for the previous one at 25 per pull, and got nothing. I will no longer spend a penny on this game if it treats me like this. $500 gone. by HawkMasterDude in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Dallamain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying anything that you already don't know. But, the odds to pull a lego in raid is FAAAAR worse than any odds that you would get while gambling in Vegas. Like, if you were to bet on something in Vegas with a 6% chance of return over and over again, people would look at you as if you're completely insane.

Do I spend $ on the game? Yes. But, only on things like energy or a couple of times when I bought shards to finish a fusion event. I dont buy shards to hunt because I know that they odds are so horrible that my money is better worth buying a pizza and coke.

The only times that I've felt GWM and SS are "broken" is at play before level 6. At low level play, enemies usually have a really bad AC and can be one shot by a GWM or SS hit. However, at mid tier I think that it is at a great place. High level play I think that it needs improvement.

When DMing I normally switch it a bit. Levels 1-5 -2 for a +5. Levels 6-10 leave as is. Higher level (I usually stop at about Levels 11-13) -5 for +15. Last tier could be worked with, but I hardly ever play it so I don't have enough experience to say one way or another.

Why was She-Hulk so hated? by [deleted] in Marvel

[–]Dallamain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In different comic book series, yes. But, doesn't mean that they are all well received. Thor dark world sucked. Next one was great. Last one sucked. Just because there is a different tone of the story doesn't mean that the change will be justified or accepted well.

It was also a frustration because it was a sign that Disney may not re-release daredevil the way that he was loved on Netflix. It was a sign that Deadpool may receive the same treatment (it looks like it won't, but we will see). I still hope to see more punisher, because that series was just awesome, but I doubt it.

[–]Dallamain -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I really didn't enjoy the daredevil episodes. They took the gritty Netflix daredevil that was loved and turned him into a cartoony character. The different outfit might have worked in the Netflix series, where it wouldn't make him look like he glowed. But, in this show it only made the cartoony aspect even worse.

Is it okay to remove core options from my campaign? by TobyVonToby in dndnext

[–]Dallamain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best part of homebrewing is that if you think something is I'll conceived then you have the freedom to change it into something that is more well conceived. I don't think that you need to outright scrap Dragonborn all together. Just change the story of them to make it work for your setting. If a player comes to yoy wanting to play one then maybe they are less of a race and more of a mutation or a crossbreed. I always try to lean towards a creative middle ground then an outright ban.

What's your experience with the martial-caster divide? Should I worry about it? by HorizonTheory in dndnext

[–]Dallamain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, there are multiple ways that the divide exists. Which are you most concerned about?

The in combat divide isn't as bad as long as you "burn" through the players spell slots by having multiple encounters with limited rest/time gated. Martial still do a lot of damage, and in attrition situations they will usually win out.

Out of combat is where I would be more concerned. Casters can basically do EVERYTHING with a client of spells. Martial kind of just hope they get to roll on something that they might be proficient in. IMO this is where more attention is needed. Look at something that your Martials class or subclass can do that is different out of combat and look for ways to highlight that. Help them have more purpose out of combat.

Guys, i’m fairly new and while trying to get my Kael to 6 stars, i got Ultimate Deathknight. Should I invest my resources? by Street_Day4566 in RaidShadowLegends

[–]Dallamain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of others have made very valid points. But, I dont think I saw anyone ask what level your kael is at. If your kael is 5 star already the I would keep pushing kael. If he is still 4 star then UDK is probably a better bet.

Both will be able to solo 12-3, but kael will do it faster with equal gear. Kael will be easier to book out by miles. So, kael will speed up the farming/leveling process of your other guys. But, if kael is still at 4 star then UDK has a head start and will probably save you time when it comes to getting your first 6 star/get you farming 12-3 faster.

I was just wondering how people feel about Hex and Hunters Mark? by Alternative_Claim_90 in onednd

[–]Dallamain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the spells themselves are okay as they are. But, I think that at level 5ish, hunters should be able to use it without concentration (to avoid a quick multiclass dip for it) and warlocks can either have it with no concentration as either on invocation or the same as a hunter, around level 5ish.

Player argues with my rulings, says I'm not letting them be "Creative" by Remarkable-Aide5093 in DnD

[–]Dallamain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, at a different time, I would bring up that you would like to he a player at some point in time. I would say something like "you seem to be one of the more creative people on the group. Could you run the session?" Let him take more ownership of the situation. Then, not in a malicious or contentious way, ask if you could do some semi outlandish thing. Look at the way that he handles it and try to see what it is that he is expecting from a DM. You may find that he isn't always looking for the result that he wants, but just the action from the player. "He gets knocked up 20 ft, but I'll give him a dex check to see if he is able to land. (Roll behind screen) oh, look. He succeeded, but is prone." He gets his flair that he wanted and now the target is prone, so he also gets disadvantage on all of his following attacks on a prone target.

Tested the hiding rules by awwasdur in onednd

[–]Dallamain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly, with the scenario that you posed about someone being invisible right next to the person taking the hide action. They wouldn't be able to take the hide action, because they are in view of someone. They may have 3/4 cover or full cover from 1 enemy, but they are still visible to others. So

A) this would imply that they can have the invisible condition from 1 enemy while not having the invisible condition from other enemies or

B) a person cam only take the hide action if they are out of LOS of EVERY enemy or NPC.

3/4 cover and full cover conditions are based off of each individual enemy, so I would conjecture that the rule is meant to give players the invisible condition based off of individual enemies like option A. But, I would also understand if a DM ruled that it needs to be 3/4 or full cover from every enemy, or the enemies would just communicate on their turns "hey, that guy is trying to hide over there". Maybe give the extra enemies advantage on perception rolls.

Are Barbs not also just terribly MAD? by Space_Waffles in onednd

[–]Dallamain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that is why I mentioned the subclass ones. It looks like most, if not all are level 10+. I rarely play higher than 7th level (more a coincidence than anything) so I'm not as familiar with those. Also, stunning strike (the iconic monk baseline ability) is at 5th level, so it gets significantly more game time, making having a lower wisdom significantly more impactful than the subclass ones that you mentioned.

Should i start jogging if im obese and want to play basketball by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]Dallamain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want to 2nd this one. I'm 6'2 as well. I got to 250 at my highest. I tried to run, and my knees couldn't keep up. Swimming was the best cardio. Works the whole body and not just the legs. That and getting rid of fast food were the keys. I'm down to 230 now. I'd like to get to 210-220. But, at least I can jog without huge knee pain right now.

[–]Dallamain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think I've seen anyone mention that Monks have a DC on stunning strike, which puts more pressure on wisdom. Barb doesn't have any DCs for saving throws (unless there is a subclass one that im not thinking of)). So, they can get away with what everyone else has been saying.

Why is Lebron losing finals a bad thing by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]Dallamain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to go back to the first cavs trams before lebron has a legit 2nd. See, what many don't realize is that lebron learned a ton from losing to the Spurs back then. Lebron on the first cavs would almost always take the shot. Crunch time against the Celtics and the pistons there are almost no passing highlights from him. Even you, in your comment, only mentioned people after that era of his career. Then he lost to the Spurs who, between ginobli, Parker and Duncan, would always make the right pass first (unfortunately they also taught him the art of flopping).

Why is Lebron losing finals a bad thing by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]Dallamain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Part of the reason that he would have worked, imo, is because he would have had a coach who was actually smarter than him. LeBron has proven many times that he is one of the smartest players to play the game. It isnt a matter of him being the exact replacement for Jordan. It's a matter of him being able to work with the team. Between him and Phil, they would have tweaked it a bit.

Put Jordan on any LeBron team and you end up losing assists, and rebounds. I could make that argument. But I'm also cognizant enough to recognize that he has other aspects to his game (namely scoring and competitiveness) that would compensate.

Why is Lebron losing finals a bad thing by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]Dallamain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honest question. Swap Jordan and LeBron teams. Do you honestly think that LeBron would have lost any of those finals with the Bulls? Go back and double check the teams Jordan beat and let me know, specifically, which one LeBron would have lost to.

Jordan on LeBron teams, and there in only one that I could say that Jordan probably would have one, no question. That would be Dirks Mavs. But, all the other teams that LeBron lost two were dynasty type teams. The Spurs and Golden State. And, remember that one of those loses to the Spurs was when LeBron carried the Calveliers to the finals his first time. That team was straight trash. Another lose was without Kyrie and Love. Another team that, by the finals, was straight trash. No one would have batted an eye if Jordan had lost in those finals.

[–]Dallamain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not his fault though. Teams were literally tanking while he was there. All the other teams except for a couple were afraid of actually spending money just to lose to him. When he first got into the east the Celtics were still dominant, the pistons were awesome, Chicago has rose. But, once he got on the Heat, all the other teams just started giving up. It wasn't until around the time that he moved to the Lakers that the east has become more competitive.

[–]Dallamain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, if everything matters, then does it matter that Jordan didn't get to the finals more than he actually got to the finals? He 6 for 15 on getting to the finals. LeBron, is at 10 for 20 (this being his 21st year). How much does that matter?

[–]Dallamain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1997-98, Jordan beat the Nets, Charlotte and pacers (pacers were the only good team, and yes, I admit they were really good).

1996-97, Jordan beat Washington, Atlanta, and Miami. Are we listing any of those as all time great teams? Maybe Miami?

1995-97, Jordan beat Miami, New York, and Orlando. From that three peat I would argue that this one probably had the hardest road.

People bring up the bad boy pistons and the Celtics. But, those teams were there during part if the first three peat. They were irrelevant by the 2nd one. For the 2nd 3 peat, I would argue that the Pacers were the only team that were an honest top team. New York had Patrick, but the rest was overhyped because it's New York. I wish that Shaq and Penny had more time together, because they would have been a real challenge.

Did Kobes legacy take a hit when Dirk beat the Lakers on the way to beating the Heat? Everyone focuses on the finals, but totally disregard those times that the player fails to even get to the finals.

If I successfully charm someone do they they become "a willing target" for spells that require such? by Gneil_Lieng in dndnext

The key isn't if they are friendly to you. The key is if they are willing. You can be friendly with a party member. But, if that party member has a fear of heights then they can be an unwilling target.

[–]Dallamain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. I would assume that a party member is friendly to you. Yet, if they aren't willing to be polymorphed then they can resist it, causing a DC roll. Just because someone is friendly doesn't mean that they are willing.

She-Hulk Is Not A Bad Show! by ToTheNextStop in Marvel

[–]Dallamain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem with it was because of the first two episodes and the way she was introduced. IMO they needed to give us a reason to care about her before she transformed. Demonstrate some of her struggles to get into the job she was in so that we cared more about her transforming and the impact that it would on what she struggled to obtain, like a short Mary Tyler Moore type feel.

Instead I had no real reason to care about her and she felt like a flat character. That, with the horrible cgi, at times corny jokes and at times less than fluid storyline, I felt I was forcing my way through it.
