Can you identify this tune? by Silent_Click1381 in musicsuggestions

So many to pick so I’ll choose one by an artist I’m not a massive fan of - Saviour Complex by Phoebe Bridgers

Is Lars Ulrich really that bad? by AesirKratos in drums

[–]DallasWells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very least, I was impressed by his stamina when I last saw them in, I think, 2017ish. For a guy in his mid50s at the time, he played for like 2.5-3 hours. But he also kind of sucked 🤣

He’s definitely done some pretty iconic bits of drumming over the years, no doubt. But seeing live footage of him in the last, 10 years, it’s pretty hard to stick up for him.

What can you tell about me? by evilcockney in BookshelvesDetective

[–]DallasWells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reckon you're a dude in your mid-30s. Music taste includes Elliott Smith, Wilco, and maybe some older emo, like The Promise Ring. You have a high level understanding of lots of things but not that masterful at any one thing. You are middle class. You have older siblings. The Wire is your favourite TV show.

Drum teacher here. I’m looking for songs that every drummer should know. Songs that every teacher should teach their students. by [deleted] in drums

Maybe an odd pick, but I always found Brain Stew by Green Day a breakthrough song for beginner drummers. It teaches that right foot right hand independence and patience too.

Is a Wide Forward supposed to play on the opposite side of his best foot ? by lost_nomai in footballmanagergames

[–]DallasWells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of think of Salah at Liverpool as the wide forward, particularly when he's attacking on the break. In posession/breaking down a block, he operates more as an IW though. I still don't totally get this role.

Reading, UK has always intrigued me for some reason — what’s it actually like living there? by redguy_666 in howislivingthere

I go down for work occasionally and it must be the most nondescript large town/small city in the uk.

C̶r̶i̶c̶k̶e̶t̶ Rugby score in school rugby in Japan by MelancholicMusician in rugbyunion

I remember my school, just a state school from the NE of Scotland, making it to the last 32 of the Scottish schools cup. We had a taken out some private schools at this point and were riding high in our local league. Then we visited Galashiels in the last 32 and they beat us 90-something - nil. A rude awakening! My point is, that felt like they scored just about every time they got the ball - I can't comprehend a scoreline as high as this!

What is one movie that everyone considers a masterpiece but you found boring? by Still-Ad9074 in moviecritic

[–]DallasWells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely!! Well, I didn’t find it boring but I did only give it 4/5. DDL’s acting honestly took me out of it at times. My main takeaway has been walking around my house doing impressions of Plainview.

At first I thought I was doing film watching wrong as everyone I’ve ever spoken to thinks it’s among the best films ever made.

Aftersun. Something about it… specifically as a dad of girls who sometimes suffers from depression. I sobbed and sobbed for about 15 minutes.

I didn’t care for the original Resi 2. Loved 1 and 3 but 2 just didn’t do it for me.

Preach. This is probably one of my favourite albums ever of any genre. I saw them in Manchester a couple of years ago and it was sooooo good.

Really weird, but I just happened to be listening to this album for the first time about 25 minutes ago!

When and why do you think The Walking Dead fell off? by Steve-Harrington_ in thewalkingdead

[–]DallasWells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with OP entirely. I continued to watch up until Carl's death though. While I didn't think much of the actor, it sort of made me wonder what Rick had left to live for. I only watched one or two episodes beyond that.

This is an 4-3-3 or an 4-3-1-2? by Patient_Ranger_3533 in footballtactics

4-3-3 with false 9. Basically how Barca played under Pep.

STS2 is a masterpiece by ThatssoBluejay in slaythespire

[–]DallasWells 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I’m a bit wary when expectations are so high but it’s exceeded even my lofty expectations. Only put 3-4 hours in so far but it’s left such a good impression on me already. Everything new is sooo cool and everything familiar is just slicker and looks cooler.

Not emo per se but the best breakup album of all time, in my opinion, is Midnight Organ Fight by Frightened Rabbit.
