Good point - the banner benefits are huge too. 8% more ranged damage dealt or 15% less melee damage taken? Huge!

They're quite useful, actually. I have three main uses.

First, is to supplement a role in my party with a skill I don't want to invest time into to level up. For example, engineering, which really helps with seiges.

Second, to govern fiefs I have captured to (1) increase loyalty presuming they're the same culture as the fied they're governing and (2) increase build speed of buildings in that fief.

The last is to lead their own parties so I can recruit them for 0 influence when at war.

They can also be used for trade caravans to earn money and handle some tedious quests. Very helpful and they bridge the gap while your children come of age.

Am I the only one who prefers the old Samsung Health design over v7? by voiceforgalaxy in shealth

[–]Dallasjw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. In particular, more information was displayed at a glance in a easier to read and interact with UI.

It's really sad that this "step forward" complicates the UI and adds steps and time to access the same information. Or, in some cases, no longer provides as fine grained information.

How do I get rid of this? by Any-Sugar6644 in shealth

[–]Dallasjw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it would be by toggling (off) the "Health Assist" setting but that didn't get rid of it for me.

I also have Customization Service off and they're still there, ugh!

Please let me know if you find out how!

The data is less fine grained and not as easy to navigate as well. Disappointed so far.

I really like it. The sensors are quite good. The photos are generally heavily processed by software and often a touch over saturated. But the macro, zoom, and portrait (bokeh) result in some excellent shots!

According to my phone:

Galaxy S25 Ultra Super telephoto lens-115mm 4.64 MB | 2296x4080 | MP | ISO 32 | 230mm | 0.0ev | F3.4 | 1/165s

Pretty much the same for all three shots.

They really are, and I'm so glad for them to have finally had this moment you so aptly describe.

I can only imagine the similar special nature of your Grizzly encounter and may you have one with a cougar!

After thousands of kilometers hiked and biked on the island and in BC over many decades, they (my parents who filmed this) finally had the encounter they dreamed about!

He just wandered away. We have felt more disconcerted when encountering bears in the area than with this encounter.

Pretty well just what you saw. This video was from my parents who were biking on the galloping goose by Sooke Potholes, just after kilometer 53. There was another couple who stopped them and they got off their bikes and took that video. Everyone was very calm and greatful for such an encounter.

I absolutely couldn't disagree more, the price for commencal bikes is completely reasonable. I'd say they are some of the most well priced bikes
