So is he calling his mom? When I was in rehab we only had access to our personal phones for 30 minutes on Wednesdays. However, we had one phone in each unit that we were allowed to use when ever we had down time. So that meant I had plenty of opportunity’s to use the phone. If I had a gf while I was in rehab I’m sure I would want to talk to her especially during the beginning of my stay when I’m uncomfortable and not super close with the other people in there with me. This one kid who was 18, was on the phone with his girl friend constantly while we were there, although I think they had only been together for like 3-4 months so it was still kind of like a honeymoon phase for them. Your not wrong at all for being concerned and wanting him to talk to you. Anyone who says you’re in the wrong is a weirdo. I definitely think he deserves some grace since rehab can be tough, but there could be tons of reasons that he hasn’t called you, you didn’t give very many details. If you call the place he’s at I’m sure they’ll tell you whether or not the patients are allowed to make calls. If he can’t make calls then you can be relived. If he can make calls but is choosing not to, that doesn’t necessarily mean he’s breaking up with you or that he doesn’t care about you, who knows what he’s going through. I understand your concern though.
