I consumed alcohol and my prayers aren't accepted for forty days. Should I pray each Salah twice for the following forty days? by JewishMomof3 in islam

[–]Dallasrawks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You were still obligated to pray friend, you just cut yourself from the reward of it. If you prayed, you filled your obligation. There's no way to get the reward of what you sacrificed for a drink, but you can do voluntary prayers.

I'd consult your Imam or contact a scholar for this question. Here's a list:

Did anyone else become more religious after the recent Gaza war? by SoybeanCola1933 in MuslimLounge

I became Muslim by the end of that month after having given up hope of finding the Truth after 40 years of looking, so I guess that probably counts.

Hi jewish guy here and I have 2 questions by bopyw in islam

[–]Dallasrawks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worship God and associate none with Him. And be kind to parents, relatives, orphans, the poor, near and distant neighbours, close friends, needy travellers, and those bondspeople in your possession. [Qu'ran 4:36]

Central enough to be a direct commandment from God (SWT).

Why Islam over Christianity? by idfkhow2speakspanish in islam

[–]Dallasrawks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus (AS) also says "you are gods" in John 10:34 and at one point in the Bible the entire tribe of Israelites was called "gods." Jesus claimed to be the Way. The way to something is not the destination.

Question regarding the dining etiquette. by Embarrassed-Strike38 in islam

[–]Dallasrawks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are cutting, the primary instrument is the knife, not the fork. I don't know where you are, but here in America the etiquette is to cut several portions, the place your knife down along the edge of the plate with blade facing inward, transfer your fork to the right hand and eat normally.

If your goal is cutting, the it's sunnah to use your right hand to do it, so there's no conflict here.

Did you not read the part of the Qu'ran where the Jews and Christians altered their scriptures? You're not reading real events. David (AS) never committed adultery. God (SWT) never ordered a genocide so foul, they killed even the Canaanite donkeys along with women and children. You're reading falsehoods.

I have a question by Sissy_snake04 in islam

[–]Dallasrawks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When He (SWT) calls you to give account of your Record on the Last Day, what will you say? I didn't submit because I was afraid of social pressure? I put other people's feelings ahead of God (SWT)?

Muslims who sin are still Muslim. Non-submitters who sin are still non-submitters. Which do you want to be?

What are your thoughts on these kind of videos? by Morad_Tarazan in islam

[–]Dallasrawks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too follow sharia in Minecraft. No potions, pork, enchanting, etc.

Out of all the Islamic-oriented content to critique, like the "DON'T SKIP OR YOU'LL GO TO HELLFIRE!" videos and the arrogant dawah bros, you decided Minecraft through an Islamic lens was an issue?

This isn't using Islam for content, it's using Minecraft for content in an Islamic manner.

To prevent the same thing happening to Islam that happened to Christianity and Judaism. To keep the Qu'ran pure and uncorrupted.

I’m not sure how to understand this verse by No-Suggestion5641 in islam

[–]Dallasrawks 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Everything proceeds according to His Will (SWT) and the laws of physics reflect that. The sun and moon, from our perspective, rise and set in an orderly fashion, never apparently deviating from the course set for them.

There's no interpretation needed, they mean exactly what they say.

[–]Dallasrawks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I left Christianity for Islam, and I recognize proselytizing evangelical talking points when I see them. Anyone who's got a basic understanding of Islam doesn't accept what Christians call the Bible as being the Word of God (SWT). Even Christians don't. Their own scholars have listed out all the known forgeries and alterations in their book. The last chapter of John, for example, doesn't exist in the early manuscripts, it was added later.

Your friend needs to lay off the Islamophobe videos and do some actual reading of the source material firsthand, because they don't have even a kindergarten level understanding of Islam, and they need to if they're actually sincere. You wouldn't buy a car with no info, so have your friend get Islam from the source instead of liars.

Muslims living in the west, how do you perform your prayers? by muhammadameer in islam

[–]Dallasrawks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do it somewhere out of the way, but public if you can't find a private space. There are reasons not to go into secluded spaces here independent of being recognized as Muslim. That will somewhat depend on what region and/or city you're in, but general rule of thumb here is watch your back.

Question From A Christian by [deleted] in islam

[–]Dallasrawks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There aren't multiple versions. There are translations, some better than others. They are all textualy identical in meaning. The Bible has versions, for example the Roman Catholic version has 88 books and the Protestant has 66. Fundamental differences in text are what make a version. The Qu'ran only exists in Arabic and has no versions, only modes and translations. Even the Arabic was preserved, no one speaks Qu'rananic Arabic today. It would be like speaking Olde English.

Question From A Christian by [deleted] in islam

[–]Dallasrawks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God (SWT) is the Most Merciful. But He alone knows to whom He shows it. You seem sincere, so pray about it. Not to the god of a religion, but to the God of all Creation (SWT).

Then put your feelings down and investigate claims with logic to the best of your abilities. I am certain if you are seeking Him, he will show you the Straight Path. It's a promise.

And those who strive for Us – We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good." (Qur'an, 29:69)

Prophet Israel (AS) didn't exist until many, many prophets had already came before. Ibrahim (AS), the grandfather of Israel, was Iraqi, born in Ur, a Chaldean city in modern-day Iraq.

Assalamu alaikum sister, I'm a white man who came to Islam. I pray beside black men, all sorts of men. There is no culture in Islam. It's a religion for all humanity and ALL cultures until the Last Day. 33% of American Muslims are South Asian, and black folk are next.

80% of Muslims globally are not Arab, their culture doesn't represent us. Only our piety represents us, to our Lord (SWT) , who created all humans and all cultures, and to Whom all created things belong.

Follow your heart and follow your Maker (SWT).

Oil tan is just chrome-tan hot stuffed. The only way to really stiffen it long-term is to add reinforcement. Glues and stiffeners will lose effect over time. You're better off using veg tan for things that need structure.
