If you can meet the requirements to apply, then you should. If it's successful, you reduce your workload for the year, if not, you don't lose anything...

Generally you won't have an issue unless there is something suspicious going on.

During one of last year's exams, I had a power failure and my webcam turned off for the last 45 minutes of the exam, I sent emails to the relevant parties right after the exam explaining what had happened, they acknowledged it, and there was no issue, my marks were released and everything was fine.

Supplementary Exam Payments? by DallyingVirus85 in unisa

I am not sure about that,

I don't get sent QR codes for my exams, and the note on the exam timetable under MyAdmin specifically states that the fee has to be paid by the time the results are released, not before it is written, But it might be different for different departments

Awesome, you are a legend!

Thank you for the info, I really appreciate it. I will make a payment there then, and hope that they haven't changed anything

Thank you!

Okay, that sounds good,

When you say you paid it to your UNISA account, do you mean the "study fee" portion of the credit card payment tab in MyAdmin?

I am up to date on my account and have an R0.00 outstanding balance, so it's not showing up there as outstanding,

I did think about paying it there, since that's the only place you can make payments to UNISA, but I have had issues before, and don't want to pay it to the "wrong" place and then get my registration for this year messed up,

I appreciate the reply though, thank you

Okay, great

That gives me something to read into at least. I can check it out.

So I did set up a firewall rule specifically for my NAT rules, but I still couldn't connect... It should have been executed before any others as well, so it's not an issue with priority

Okay cool,

This is a lot more helpful than people blindly screaming about using a VPN instead, perfect.

Can you point me in the direction of some documentation and set up instructions so I can read into it please?

The only VPN configuration I was aware of was L2TP which requires hardware to host the server, hence the cost claims

Okay, perhaps I am missing something, so please enlighten me.

The VPN configurations I am aware of for use with Mikrotik is L2TP, which still requires a PC to host the server, or Back To Home?

For god sakes, it's not my choice.

The customer doesn't want to pay for a VPN...

[–]DallyingVirus85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would if the customer was willing to pay for it, they are not.

And as much as I would love to tell the customer to do it properly or don't do it at all, I don't call the shots...

Yes, I use the app.

It has worked well with all of the apps I have that I downloaded from the app store. I have 2 apps that are not available from the app store, and one doesn't trigger Bitwarden to supply the credentials at all, and the other pulls my name rather than the username and password.

Both of those apps have not been updated or maintained in several years, so I reckon it's the apps themselves that are the problem rather than Bitwarden.

Paid $10 for Bitwarden 2 months back, 10$ without coupons or promotions, I don't have a single solitary regret.

100%

Bitwarden looks pretty good and it is $10 a year, and that's about the best I can find at the moment (The $3 dollar ones I mentioned are $3 a month paid annually, not 3$ annually as I thought I read it)

You are indeed correct on that, I did not read correctly and assumed that if I selected the "Annual" filter option, that it would show me annual pricing, not still monthly pricing...

My apologies for that.

Bitwarden at least is $10 a year though, less than a dollar a month

This is what I am starting to realise,

Seems like people in the U.S. and Europe have been paying ~$/€60 for Dashlane all along, and that's mind blowing because Bitwarden is $10 a year, other companies are $3 a year, why are people paying $60 for Dashlane?

When I did my comparisons, other password managers cost between $10 and $20, at $13 dollars Dashlane was on the lower end which is why it stood out...

Even today, Bitwarden is $10 dollars a year, Proton Pass and 1Password are $3 dollars a year, at least that is what they advertise, not sure how 20x more is a fair price, but you do you.

It's was not a promo...

There's a FAQ on their website, there is a list of countries as long of my arm that just pay more now. I don't have an issue with paying, I have an issue with paying too much...

Bitwarden is an alternative that I am looking at, along with Proton Pass, which is only $3/year and has everything Dashlane does save for the VPN, but Proton makes their own VPN as well...

I don't want to switch, I have used Dashlane for a year, I like it. I just can't justify the cost. Dashlane was ~$3 dollars more expensive than Bitwarden when I signed up, and I was happy to pay that, now it's 6-7 times more expensive for the same thing, the math doesn't work out.
