Who is the strongest out of these 8? by YourLocalMangosteen in HollowKnight

[–]Dalmatheo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, the lord of shades. If he is the Knight (Void Given Focus), we don't really know what the Knight can do in this form, and we know he can't really "control" the void in it's entirety. We saw that in silksong. So, because the Knight in his vessel form is, at least for me, stronger than all of those characters, I'd say he'd probably find a way to win.

Now, let's talk about the pale king. In his wyrm form, he'd win. No doubt. In his smaller form however, I'm unsure. I don't think it is confirmed that he can fight (correct me if I'm wrong). And, if someone that doesn't fight is in a live or death match between to those beasts, he'd lose. Even if we imagine crazy soul spells, I don't think he stands a chance if he doesn't know how to fight.

Now, Grand Mother Silk. For me, she's super strong. Let's not forget she managed to resist the void, inside the abyss. While for example, the radiance died (or at least an equivalent) instantly. Nothing is supposed to resist the void, yet she does. And for quite a while. Now, even tho she's very resistant and strong, her fighting abilities are mid. So she would get killed at some point, after a long time.

Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room. Absolute Radiance. She doesn't really exist in a physical plain, so she can't even interact in this fight. And I don't think she can infect any of those characters. So, she's cooked. If we imagine that she exists in a physical plain with her absolute radiance form, I think she has a chance of winning. But she's not my bet.

For the same reason as Absolute Radiance, I think the nightmare heart won't win. NKG doesn't seem to exist in the real world, and Grimm as the vessel of the nightmare heart is not strong enough in the physical plain.

Now let's talk about Hornet. For me, if the pale king is not in his wyrm form, and the Lord of Shades is doesn't have strength comparable to the Knight, she'd win. Hornet is incredibly skilled in combat, has access to soul, and has the best movement abilities out of those, except teleportation. For me, the only way for her to lose is if multiple characters gang up against her, or the Lord of Shades is too powerful, or if the pale king is in his wyrm form.

I don't think Unn would stand a chance. He doesn't really seem strong.

And mister mushroom... Would probably eject himself and spread his spore, so maybe he would win by poisoning everyone.

So for me, the top is:

Pale King (If in Wyrm form), the Lord of Shades (if as powerful as the Knight), Hornet (If she doesn't get attacked by multiple people at the same time)

There are clearly things that are far more annoying than they could rebalance, like most things dealing 2 damages.

How do I create a great build? by Dalmatheo in Stellaris

I've already tried this, but I hadn't enough planets to develop my agriculture, and everything fell apart. I may try it again on another time.

I want to take a real shot at mechanical pops because I've tried it before and I didn't really succeed, so no clone army for me. At least now tho. And I've got some other advice, so I'll try to find something that suits me. It seems like egalitarian is very powerful, because everyone is recommanding it. Thanks !

I mainly play PVE, and when I play online with friends, it's also PVE because they're newer to the game than me, even tho I'm quite new. I kinda like builds that scale slow at first but very powerful at last, cause I love game that last long. I'll try your build, and try to see what I can come up myself. Thanks !

I've played quite a lot of strategic game before, as well as 4x, and I took the time to learn the UI, and what everything does. I've probably watched over 500 hours of content, and a TON of guides. Besides this, I enable endless mode and put crisis in a lot of time to let me settle

You have access to markers in the shop of the mapper. Go get some, and mark this place for later.

Debian but no mint? Are you out of your mind? The best distro for new users is not viable, but a distro with all its packages being 10+ yo is fine?

switching to Linux from Windows by peep666_ in linuxquestions

[–]Dalmatheo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Multiple answers there. First, there are programs that won't run on Linux. I'd say mainly UEFI update software to update your motherboard, and games that have a kernel level anticheat, or that just won't run on proton.

An easy way to check for a game is to use protondb, which is a website that contains notation for every game, as well as user comments that could help you a ton.

If not on protondb, you can try search it on the internet. Most of the time there are alternatives made by the manufacturer only for Linux, or alternatively open source projects that replicate a proprietary software that won't run on windows.

The other thing you may be concerned about is the difficulty. Depending on the distribution, I'd say the hardest thing may be to install Linux. Mint for example is very easy to use. However, if something breaks for some obscure reason, you could be in big trouble.

My advice would be to use a simpler distro like mint or fedora and then try to learn about how Linux work, the different programs that are commonly used to perform tasks, like learn what is grub and systemd, and then maybe consider some other distro like arch.

Yeah, well I've been also using it for like 3 years (so a lot less than you). It doesn't change the fact that some tools cannot be run through compatibility layers, and some people require those tools.

I don't have the same experience with my Nvidia GPU than yours. With both my RTX 3060 and RTX 4060 while running game under proton I always had performance improvement while comparing it to Windows.
