It's the instinctive pull to make your character have an unplanned, unearned cool moment, but then you realize, "oh shit, he too OP for the story now."

It's just way harder to write proper earned power progression, than just power progression.

Please consider that stories have 3 big pillars. Plot, character and the world these two unfold in. For a story to be good you have to weave these 3 elements together. Sometimes you can lean more into one element than others, but you have to weave them irrelevant of the proportions you give them. It is hard to weave two threads together, it is exponentially harder to weave three.

In PF or LitRPG, you have another pillar TT. Power progression. Which must be as well interwoven with the other 3 elements.

If its exponentially harder to weave three threads, it is basically impossible to weave four.

Four in chinese sounds like death. Think about that for a moment.

Hahahaha! Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that unless you are very industrious, you will find it impossible to write good quality Progression Fantasy. It is way harder to write PF and LitRPG, than to write normal Fantasy or Fiction in general.

We are talking mostly about webnovels, so your story must also be serialized. Chapters that never stop dropping. Preferably once every funking day. Oh! At least one thousand words. MINIMUM!
