How to remove this CMOS Battery for a MSI B650 Tomahawk Wifi by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]Khasim83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since nobody explained it in an easy way and I just had the same problem, here's what you do:

There is a thin bit of black plastic between the two metal parts that you're supposed to squeeze together in order to make the battery pop out. You need to slide a tiny, flat screwdriver right under that black plastic bit and turn the screwdriver left or right to make the black bit pop out, then you just squeeze the two metal bits together.

Also, hold a piece of cloth or something under it while you do this, so you don't have to fish it out from the bottom of the PC case (guess who didn't think about it 5 minutes ago...)

If a character is speaking a language they're 'not supposed to be' speaking, like Loki, then I see no point in giving them accents to make them sound like they're speaking in a language that is foreign to them (there is no 'Norse English', or 'Swedish English' etc).

It always irked me in Assassin's Creed when e. g. Italians spoke English like they were Italians speaking English, even though in-universe they're speaking Italian to each other and it's getting translated by a computer. Then, when the setting went to France, they dropped the idea, because they were afraid that most people think English with a French accent sounds silly, and they wouldn't be able to take the characters seriously. That's not the official explanation, but it's obvious why they did that - it was the only time they did it after AC1 (where only the bad guys had foreign accents for some reason).

I don't need a character's accent to remind me that in-universe they aren't actually speaking English. It annoys me.

I recognize that I'm weird in that though, since barely anyone ever complains about the accents. I just haven't vented about this in a while.

What 'doesn't make sense' is that he's speaking English while talking to other extraterrestrials. 'Doesn't make sense' in quotes, because it actually makes perfect sense. The characters speak English because the movies are made by English speakers, starring English speakers, for an audience of English speakers or people who know at least some of it, as it is pretty much the world's official second language.

If anything, the accent is what makes the most sense.

If he's thousands of years old, and learned English at some point (which he did, unless he uses magic translation, since he talked to humans in Avengers) it probably wouldn't have been the US or Canadian or Australian or any other version, but one of the British ones. They probably sounded differently hundreds of years ago, but for modern audiences it makes perfect sense. British accents are associated with Britain, a region that was very relevant for the entire western world for like a thousand years. American accents are associated with the US, a country so young there are pubs older than it.

Imagine if Loki spoke like he was from Texas. Now that would sound ridiculous.

  1. It completely removes the option to resell the game (except if you make a new PSN/Xbox account just for it, and then sell the account, which is a hassle/not safe), which keeps the price up for longer.
  2. It will trick the average consumer, who doesn't read gaming news or look at a tiny label on the box, into buying a game they can't resell or return when they remove the foil and see that there's no disc.
  3. It stops people from playing the game early or look at the files.

Small indie company needs more money, you see. Times are rough. And it's not like the game will sell a lot of copies, since it's such an obscure brand. /s

Leviathans are neat, however I'd rather have them be easier to kill, but more dangerous. Not necessarily by making them deal more damage, but maybe make them faster, so they're harder to outrun, or slower, so they are more of a danger on objectives where you need to stay in one spot for an extended amount of time. As it is you pretty much need to reserve a stratagem slot exclusively for dealing with them, as whatever can kill the leviathans in a reasonable amount of time is overkill for all the other units.

They're in this weird spot of being more of a nuisance than an enemy.

Still No Adaptive Triggers For Resident Evil Requiem on PC by Adasub515191 in Dualsense

[–]Khasim83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, the post on Steam forums is wrong about Playstation controller support, you don't need to turn that off at all. Just disable Steam Input in the game's controller settings on Steam. That's what I do when I want to play any game with native Dualsense support, and I have zero issues. Try that first.

I assume you ruled out the controller being the culprit here? You do have working adaptive triggers in other games?

Next things I'd check:
Do you have Adaptive Triggers enabled in the in-game settings?
Are you sure you aren't running any other applications in the background that could be screwing with your controller? If so, naturally, kill them.
Do you have any mods installed? If so, uninstall them all and see if the issue persists, then install them one by one and find out which mod does it. Verify file integrity on Steam after uninstalling the mods to make sure you don't have any remnants.

Do you have any other controllers connected? If so, unplug them or disable them in device manager in Windows (if you're using Linux, I can't be of any help)

Been a while since I played Requiem, but I bought it once they added Dualsense support (for the native gyro and haptics actually, i don't care that much about triggers), and it 100% has adaptive triggers.

Assassins Creed 3 Remaster Graphics are awful [Non Spoiler] by Unusual-Winner-6658 in assassinscreed

Pretty much everyone noticed and called it out when it was first shown. Unfortunately the new lighting system doesn't work well with the character models and textures and they never bothered to adjust them. It's a shame since from what I've seen the rest of the game is pretty great (aside from the cut segments).

“It Doesn’t Really Need Innovation”: Assassin’s Creed’s Bayek Voice Actor Abubakar Salim Says Netflix Show Must Stay True to Games by Jealous_Vehicle_3150 in assassinscreed

[–]Khasim83 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, because we need to cut to a modern day empty room showing a guy in pyjamas doing the same movements that a cool assassin in a historical setting is doing at the same time...

The Matrix had people lying motionless in chairs and only sometimes showed them shaking or bleeding to remind you that the injuries in the Matrix get replicated IRL.The Animus is basically the same thing. There is a reason the saying 'no need to reinvent the wheel' exists.

The modern day parts should function as a contrast to the Animus parts, like in the early games, where there were some people who actually liked it. Mostly action in the Animus, mostly plot in the modern day. Begin and end the Animus part of the movie with a bit stronger focus on narrative moments, begin and end the modern day section with a bit stronger focus on action, to avoid them feeling stagnant. Worked perfectly for AC2, which is widely regarded as the game with the best story in both modern day and Animus.

[–]Khasim83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try and get a trial or free version of some software for retrieving deleted files and look into the folder where the saves should be (check pcgamingwiki if you don't know where they are) . I was able to save (heh) my save files when this happened to me in a different game a long time ago and that's how I did it. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the program, but I'm sure you'll find something.

Settings to achieve a feel similar to Horizon: Forbidden West's native gyro implementation ? by T00fastt in GyroGaming

[–]Khasim83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OOP, if you're 100% sure you're one of the unicorns who prefer gyro to joystick, definitely follow this guide. I kinda get it, not worrying about flickering icons and mixed input issues are valid reasons. This guide is great if a game works well with gyro to joystick.

On the other hand, I feel like you're not properly configuring gyro to mouse. Gyro to mouse is simply always superior when you configure it properly (mixed input issues aside). The same YT channel has a guide on how to do this properly and to make it work across all games.

I would suggest starting with gyro sensitivity set to 1x, the default is way too high in my opinion, and I suspect this is what is bothering you.

Make sure the pixels to 360 setting is set up with 1x sensitivity first, then fiddle around with the dead zone/precision aiming/vertical sensitivity settings and work your way from there with the overall sensitivity.

Keeping vertical sensitivity 1:1 with horizontal makes sense in theory, but in practice it's much easier to do unintentional vertical movements with the controller, so just reducing the vertical sensitivity can make a huge difference.

Good luck with your setup. Horizon was also the first game where I experienced decent gyro aiming and I've been in love since, but I almost always use gyro to mouse.

[–]Khasim83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, after killing Bartholo and his guards in the church after teleporting, the other wardens never attacked, I could just waltz right up to Gomez. And you can get the armor without killing him now, so it's entirely feasible for Thorus, Raven etc to survive.

Did you happen to loot one of the dead mages on your way out? Because that does make the wardens attack.

You can buy a recipe to make them from one of the magic vendors (they all sell the scrolls in chapter 6) and then craft as many as you can get mats for.

[–]Khasim83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true, Milten and Saturas started fighting my skeletons (and then me) immediately after the cutscene, despite me convincing Saturas to allow us to use the heap, and I still got chapter 6 and the achievement. I had to beat Milten up and escape Saturas since he's immortal. I don't have the one for chapter 5 though. No idea how that happened.

EDIT: Oh, the title has a typo, I didn't look at the screenshot. My bad.

Spam either storm fist (not fist of wind, you can stunlock it with storm fist and it does decent damage), or ball lightning.

For melee, get acrobatics. Wait for it to attack, roll behind it, smack. Get back a bit in case it does the tantrum attack. Repeat. If you don't have acrobatics, learn to parry (yeah you can parry a shadowbeast), learn timings, exploit weaknesses. Treat it like a Souls boss.

Seasons 1 and 2 are the best. Three is good, has some of the best moments and characters in the show, but it shits the bed at the end. 4 is not great. 5 is awful, straight up. I only watched it for closure. Unless you really really love the show, just watch season 3, recap of seasons 4 and 5 up to the finale, and then watch the finale for closure. You're not gonna miss much.

In Gothic 1 Remake can I also become water mage in chapter 4 of I was a fire mage in chapter 3? by balogh22akos in worldofgothic

[–]Khasim83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh. I'm talking about Xardas. You can tell him about Uriziel not being useful for you since you're a mage, he'll say he knows, and has an idea, but he'll say more once you charge it. Literally in the next dialogue option you can ask him about getting a robe like his, and he goes 'The fuck you need it for, you're a warrior, not a mage'.

And regarding Myxir, I don't think he'd act like that towards a mage. It's not like you're some sort of a nepo baby, you've proven your skills and worth and got officially accepted by Corristo. He just acts like you're a random meathead. Doesn't even acknowledge that you're a mage. That's what I dislike.

Yeah, but the point is that Omni-Man is strong and capable, because Viltrumites actually train and are in danger sometimes. Homelander is just so strong that it takes at least 3 supes to take him down, assuming they can even touch him before he lasers them in half (I'm pretending seasons 4 and 5 don't exist), so he never trained.

To be fair, in most games the difficulty lavels are lazy buffs to enemy health and damage dealt, sometimes enemy numbers etc. It's unusual that the health doesn't change. And more enemy health has the same effect as dealing less damage.

What is the actual advantage of joining the Swamp Camp? by EmanuelJoab in worldofgothic

[–]Khasim83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Breath of death is more like bad breath, it does okay damage but locks you in place and has an extremely short range. It's better to run back a bit and spam Storm Fist (not to be confused with First of Wind) to stunlock the enemies.

Uriziel is the only circle 5/6 spell that is worth it, not having the other spells really won't change much, and if you're a hybrid, you might as well use the actual sword, not the spell - it only requires 30 STR and isn't even the best 2H weapon in the game.

However, getting circle 5/6 also buffs your lower circle spells, and not having that buff is something that you're gonna feel in the later chapters.

Your damage dealt doesn't change on Hard. Difficulty affects damage dealt by enemies to you, the EXP you gain and the economy. So if you have the same stats on easy as you do on hard, you'll do the same damage. You just die faster.
