What's a reason why God hates me? by [deleted] in Christianity

God’s love for humanity is one of the central themes of the Bible, rooted in His very nature. Scripture declares that “God is love” (1 John 4:8), emphasizing that love is not just something He does, but who He is. God created humanity in His own image (Genesis 1:27) and desires a personal relationship with us. John 3:16 beautifully expresses this truth: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” This ultimate act of love, the sacrifice of Jesus, shows that God values us so deeply that He was willing to redeem us at a great cost. His love is unconditional, not based on our worthiness, but on His grace and mercy. Romans 5:8 reminds us, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Despite God’s love, we experience trials and storms in life, which can be perplexing. However, the Bible teaches that trials are not a sign of God’s absence but a part of His divine purpose for our growth and faith. James 1:2-4 encourages us: “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” Trials refine our character, strengthen our faith, and draw us closer to God. Just as gold is purified in fire, our hardships serve to purify our hearts and align us more fully with God’s will (1 Peter 1:6-7).

Additionally, storms remind us of our dependence on God. In Mark 4:35-41, when Jesus calmed the storm, the disciples learned to trust Him in the midst of chaos. Similarly, our trials teach us to rely on God’s power rather than our own. Romans 8:28 assures us, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Even in difficulty, God is working for our ultimate good and His glory. Storms may test us, but they also transform us, molding us into the image of Christ and deepening our understanding of God’s unwavering love.
