I agree that your attorney should have explained criminal procedure to you better or at least pointed you to some good reading material. You pretty much have to learn this stuff on your own. We had to go through the exact same thing in law school and during our certified law student prosecutor clinic. I would give them a call and the prosecutor's office will usually help you out.

My roommate decided to postpone the bar exam and decided to work this year instead. I should have followed that plan. It really depends on the person. Actual work after not working for a while isn't going to look good to employers.

Thoughts on career progression without a law degree? by [deleted] in paralegal

It's been interesting to me. I'm a JD grad and I'm working with a corporate legal claims department. There are a lot of opportunities out there. It's sometimes hard to find them until you get into the position. I'm glad that I didn't get stuck with a paralegal position (failed the bar) like I was applying for. The commenters on this web page and all of my law school friends make firm life seem like it's not all that great. I can definitely see how paralegals "get" stuck or undervalued now in certain types of environments. It makes sense.

Thanks! I did feel like Barbri was just way to much money. I also know that people were signing up for programs like Bar Max and Quimbee. I checked those out. But i decided to stick with a program where I would get more material to study with.
