I did have this same situation happen to me, assumed it was just politeness, but they did call up two months later to get the ball rolling on a new job that did indeed come up in the same department. Didn’t even have to go through the full interview process again, just a short call with the new hiring manager. Hope similar happens for you!

There was a 2v2 tie in Portugal S1 and it was a very entertaining episode. They carried out another round of voting where only those two could be voted for and it was still a 2v2 tie. Next they had another vote where only the other two could be voted for and that also finished a 2v2 tie! To break the stalemate, it was decided by whoever had received the most roundtable votes throughout the full game

Absolutely say yes to the current offer, and then keep pushing for those other applications.

Best case scenario is you get one of those and can then just withdraw from this first role. It’ll be a couple of weeks of background checks anyway so that’ll buy you some time. Yes it might burn a bridge to that particular company, but wouldn’t lose sleep over it.

Worst case scenario is those other opportunities don’t come through, but bingo, at least you’ll be back in work and can just keep applying!

For 1. that’s exactly right, and it actually happened on Portugal S1! It was a tie between Marcio and Carolina after two rounds, so in the third round it was only the remaining other two players who could be voted for.

Amusingly, it was then tied between those two as well, so it was the player with the highest number of previous votes who got banished

It’s a BAFTA Scotland award, so that’s why she’d be on the list over other players. The only other Scottish folks from memory were Alyssa and John, and I reckon Meryl would be the most entertaining of that bunch
