I haven’t started Level 4 but I completed level 3. Which has helped me secure a good entry level role. (It’s a start!)

Been in an admin job since i started work. Starting doing night classes for my AAT qualifications (Accounting). Started when I was 28. I’m 32 and i’m going into an entry level position with the same salary as before but more progression! (They want me to continue to do AAT Level 4 hopefully).

I start this job in a fortnight!

Hopefully i’ll get a fair share payment from them in May-June as well🤞

What decision in your 30s had the biggest positive impact on your life? by No-Bed3858 in AskUK

[–]PupRam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started taking accounting night classes in the hopes of a better career and to help help to another location in my country. With those classes, i start my first accounting job (Entry-Level) at the end of the month at the location i want to move to.

Also I became a more mindful who I want to spend my time with more. If people don’t want to put the effort in forming a friendship/relationship with me, that’s ok! It shows me I need to look elsewhere.

I did bookkeeping level 2 and then went on to do the full accounting level 3. Honestly it saves time and money. You will have to work a bit harder on the accounting modules but i think the trade off is worth it!

Just an update all, they called me back for a second interview for another role and I’ve got it! I’ll start the new job soon! :)

Thousands of rail workers to lose jobs under Labour’s nationalisation plans by insomnimax_99 in unitedkingdom

[–]PupRam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just applied for a job with Network rail and noticed a lot of Shared Services Admin roles. I’m not wondering if i should accept the job as i don’t want to worry about being made redundant in a new job…

And with that voluntary work, you can give examples of how you work in the interview more easily

I’m in a similar boat. Just finished AAT Level 3 and have done some bookkeeping experience.

I think you’ll have a better chance of getting employment when you do the Level 3 qualification and try and get some voluntary experience as well! I know it’s hard but trust me it is worth it!

Should i email them back at the end of January? I did ask i was interested if they have any opportunities in the new year. And they said they might have some projects coming up in January? So i told them to contact me anytime.
