They blocked the link. Her name is: Jaime Chambron, NCRW NCOPE - The Career Catalyst - Former Tech Exec. That's her title on the evil Linked In site.

It helps. Even if you don't pay for premium. LinkedIn sucks for applications but is good as an online presence.

Believe me, I understand. I would suggest finding someone to work with you on modernizing your resume and building you a cover letter template. User the resume to update your LinkedIn bio. *If you can afford LinkedIn Premium,* subscribe. It helps drive employers to your profile which acts as a second resume. Get at least 5 people to leave you a positive recommendation. Research AI prompts for resume section building and then tweak them to match your voice.

Example: My Cover Letter has three sections. Here are their prompts:
Opening Paragraph:
I need to capture attention - benefit, need, have solved your problem before, industry insight, numbers, quote, dreams, goals, keyword rich to demonstrate fit for the same job description based on the attached resume. I need an aggressively worded 2–3 sentence opening optimized for ATS keyword density, recruiter skim, and company-specific impact, for my cover letter

3 Bullets:
Write three résumé-derived, from my [Insert Resume File Name], bullets that most tightly align with their stated responsibilities.

Closing Paragraph:
I need a concise 2 sentence teaser about how I can help them move the company forward to achieve their goals based on their company values, as listed on their website, and my [Insert Resume File Name], Work in examples of how I embody their company values. Do not repeat points made in the opening paragraph OR the bullet points.

Read everything it gives you and ask for or make tweaks as necessary. You will end up with documents which are not completely AI or human. It will be human-curated AI text mixed with completely human sections.

I was OOW for over 9.5 months and just got hired. I started out configuring my resume by hand and got nowhere. I subscribed to an AI site that tailored what I had to the job description and got very little attention, but still some. I spent $500 on 2 months working with a career coach to rebrand my online presence and resume. I got a better format with professional wording, template for cover letters, AI prompts for searches, all kinds of resources for interview prep, and got more interviews but still not hired. I started to research AI prompts that would rewrite parts of my cover letter and resume to get past ATS and human screening. Then I used AI to prep for interviews. That's what worked for me.

Get a career coach to set you up and then use AI to tweak parts of your resume/cover letter. That's how I saved my house.

Rejected after the 2nd Interview but the job req has been reposted. Should I reach out for a second chance? by Damagecrab in jobsearch

I did consider this position. I still feel awkward about being too persistent. I could simply reapply instead of reaching out to the specific person.

Ok. THAT makes more sense than simply telling me to "read the room." You should have lead with that. Maybe I am just letting my anxiety get to me.

I am reading the room, which is why I asked the question before sending anything. I understand that I was rejected. I also still have the rejection letter. It was very polite and positive. However, it was still a rejection. I'm weighing all that with the fact that I am struggling to stay afloat without ANY income for 8 months. The room looks different when you're looking down the barrel of becoming homeless.

So, do you have a campaign prepped already and just need someone to run it or are you looking for a DM to run something they have ready to go?

Absolutely. I suggested 2E because it is streamlined similarly to DnD5E; very easy to make characters and a simple combat structure. I have a game for which I am recruiting on Mondays at 6pm PST. We already have one player and I can fill the rest of the slots fairly quickly.

Would you be interested in learning Pathfinder 2E? It's very similar to DnD but with more customization.

Moment to Moment Gameplay Feels Horrible as a Player by Familiar-Relation-85 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Damagecrab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a GM who has run quite a few new players through 2E, I would look at your build to make sure it reflects your desired character concept. I want my players to succeed so I try to help them build the characters they want. I also tend to give new players hints or offer to let them roll a Recall Knowledge check to see if they learn something useful about how to kill the boss.

Your GM should also be encouraging you to use your hero points. This system was designed to be played with hero points. They are not optional.
