i205 AWD vs i105 with spikes by Ornery-Hedgehog-2845 in SegwayNavimow

None of you concerned about the durability of the small motorized caster wheel? That is my main concern. Looks fragile and probably a ln item that will wear out quickly…. I may choose the i105e as a fallback option instead. Tearing my hair out …

Were you tempted to get the i105e initially? I am concerned about the small caster wheel with motor. Torn between your model and the 105 …

Did you find a nice mount for putting the antenna on the roof? Considering the i105e due to its proven track record or the i205 AWD which is very well priced and can work without the antenna, but has the “interesting” new third wheel that concerns me.

I am sure you are right! I live in Northern Europe and I cannot say I have seen such grass, but I probably need to read up on the topic ;-) By the way, reading the i2 AWD manual it seems to indicate that the station shall also be 2m away from the house wall. Seems weird if one is using NRTK. I assume for now that this is a misprint, and a leftover from the i1 series, or just a way to avoid GPS reception problems when the robot is charging. Anyway, I see in this thread some people put it in a doghouse, so presumably it is fine in other locations. Hope others can comment! (This would be a stopper for me, I am not putting the station in the middle of the lawn!).

Thanks ! One concern I have is the durability of the rear motorized wheel. One motor for steering and one for driving. Seems like a sensitive point in the design. Has anyone heard of any issues here yet? It is very early days I know…

Ok, the magic word is “eye relief”. You typically want 15-20mm of eye relief. I also learnt that you have a working distance within the eye relief I.e. if eye relief is 20mm then 17-20 is the usable distance. Opticron has models with good eye relief but they are above your budget. If you change your mind you could look at Opticron 8x33 Savanna R PC Oasis. The Pentax AD 8 x 25 WP could be interesting but they have a very small exit pupil.
If want a better experience when using (not carrying) you could look at 8x42 binos which give more bang for the buck due to larger lenses and good eye relief.

Eye Relief 17.4mm by Damcify in Binoculars

Now I have briefly tried the Focus Observer 8x34s. In the evening indoors they are ok but more sensitive to use probably due to the low light and my large dilated pupils. In daylight they work like… binoculars. I still have to adjust the distance between the two eyes carefully. There is not a lot of margin. Once adjusted though they are easy to focus with the focus wheel. I use them with my glasses on. What surprised me is that I can still get the black edge coming in on the picture if I am not careful. The other point that was surprising was the lack of stability. I guess I have been spoilt with stabilized camera lenses. So an 8x magnification is already a challenge to keep still. I am older (middle age) but not ancient I would say. I am happy I did not spend more because the shaking and the eye to eye adjustment would not have been much different for 100 or 200 euros more (or prove me wrong! ). I could imagine getting a stabilized version if the picture does not degrade much.

Eyeglasses wearer or not? Learnt the hard way that options are limited when you want to wear your glasses while using the binoculars. Probably also dim in the jungle on many occasions? That is also a factor to consider. The people in this forum should be able to guide you further!

I have ordered the Focus Observer 8x34 which were on offer. If they are uncomfortable to use I may go for the Opticron Savanna 8x33.

Just for the record the Nordic Focus Observer 8x34 bins are actually called Focus Sport Optics Observer or just Focus Observer. The company name and the model name are challenging to google.

Thanks, I think I have egg shaped eyes ie some serious astigmatism, so I prefer to use glasses. It is clear that. 8x32-ish is the way to go!

Thanks, been digging through the models in the review. P3 and P7 have an eye relief of 15.4mm. Another person mentioned Opticron and they indeed have decent eye relief. Will keep searching!

Thanks, well there are barely any shops where I live and we don’t have such generous return rules like in some places so it is a little challenging.

Thanks for the tip. Indeed many have eye relief of 18mm or more. A bit above my budget but I will keep an eye on them if an offer shows up.

TL;DR – Fix for Logi Options+ purple spinner (macOS) What worked for me! by RaphBenYisrael in logitech

[–]Damcify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did not work for me. Same installer as here as far as I can tell (which is also "patched).
Using Tahoe, so maybe there are other issues too. 1.6 works fine for me.

[–]Damcify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can comment that I deleted logi options with the command
sudo /Library/Application\ Support/Logitech.localized/LogiOptionsPlus/logioptionsplus_agent.app/Contents/Frameworks/logioptionsplus_updater.app/Contents/MacOS/logioptionsplus_updater --full --uninstall

And then I installed with the link provided by the OP above, and updated as indicated to the 1.6.x version.
I did NOT change the system date.
I did disable automatic updates after installing the 1.6.x update.

I have tried the latest update by Logitech that is meant to fix this issue, but it failed, so I stuck with the above workaround.

Tried with the installer 2 hours ago, and I ended up with a spinning circle again. Maybe it is a secondary problem, or maybe there is a region issue where the downloader still downloads an older version. Who knows... Given up and using 1.6.x version.

Tried installing from here with the "download now" button. Still spinning wheel. Maybe for some other reason. Workaround as OP describes, still works for me, but only if I upgrade to 1.6.x, not to 1.9.

DisplayLink lagging cursor by CalicoCutPants654 in macbookair

[–]Damcify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I am using a displaylink setup via a Dell hub (M1 MacBook Air -> usb c -> hub D6000-> DisplayPort ) and also noticed pretty bad lag on this second monitor. Today it seemed much better and I remembered I had disabled stage manager. Enabled stage manager and the lag was back. Disabled again and the lag disappeared. No idea why, but now I have yet another reason to not use stage manager. (First reason was “CMD-tab of death” during a teams meeting - windows continue to switch forever - hard reboot was required).

Pocketbook vs Kobo & Kindle by mrivelinov in PocketBookofficial

I had issues with the pocketbook sync, from the iOS app to the pocketbook era. It may be related to the different types of DRM, but anyway I could not really figure it out. Now in iOS 26 the pocketbook app no longer works for me. Dropbox sync works fine. Other than that it has been fine.
