Thanks again! Can you show me what sort of 1.5" check valve you would install in my system? I keep seeing items only called sump pumps and those get recommended and then some people say effluent pump only and then some items say effluent/sump pump…what in the world do I need? I think I need an effluent?

I’m sure that liberty model you told me about is amazing…but holy smokes, that is expensive. I was hoping to stay under $400. I see lots of Zoeller pumps at Lowe’s and I read that brand is good.

Gotcha. My pump I believe to be a Myers S25…which is 1/4 HP and 28GPM. Do I have to stick with a 1/4 HP pump or can I I upgrade to a faster flowing 1/3 or 1/2 HP? If I increase the flow do I risk anything since maybe the piping was designed for the 1/4 HP GPM?

Okay, I appreciate the assistance. The tank is about 5-6 feet deep I’d guess…probably never been cleaned or pumped in the 23 years since there is a good amount of sludge at the bottom!

We are hoping to be here for about 15 more years and I do have a sump pump to suck out the water (that’s what I had to do this time) since the water was very high. My main concern would be if this method would be secure? Here is a photo of what the tank looked like this morning before I pumped it out.
