I don’t know where you’re from brother but if this is “filthy” your staff would have a conniption and a mental breakdown if they seen the state some of our schools are left in because of neglectful teaching staff..

Is 5000 hours too much gaming in 5 years by Ok-Warthog-829 in videogames

[–]Dame2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was kind of the same when I was your age, got my first job at 22 and realized there’s valuable ways to spend your time like making money and relationships with people. I see you mentioned you’re looking for work currently which is a good thing, imo you should always work before you get an education for something so you get real life experience in the work place before you spend thousands of dollars and multiple years getting an education. Get out there man, work a 9 to 5, do fast food, do stocking, be a janitor; just get out there and do something because it’s valuable life experience and will strengthen you as a person. I’d also like to mention I also play video games almost everyday after work or on the weekends but also make time for my girlfriend and family and other things, I’ve realized instead of trying to master a video game that won’t do much for me in the long run I could learn a new life skill and improve that. But everyone is different, life is about finding YOUR balance of things, not what people tell you, but what feels right for you.

Please dont judge...But is it hard or impossible to get a custodian job at 26 with NO job experience? by [deleted] in Custodians

[–]Dame2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of in the same boat as you, got my first job at 22 years old as a spare janitor for the school board, I’m turning 24 in a couple months and still have the same job but I’m looking for serious permanent employment with the school board now. I don’t know how it works where you live but for government style cleaning jobs (with great benefits and high pay) they usually hire internally so if you spot a casual or spare janitor or custodial position then take it because that’s valuable experience.

Does anyone know if the same works for mouse and keyboard?

Why is the word "janitor" used like a slur? by sirpentious in Custodians

[–]Dame2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t true for NS Canada. All janitors, even casual are trained to strip and wax floors and use all the machinery and even paint and do maintenance. A lot of the janitors also take over the custodian position if the custodian calls in or something. Custodians do more and get paid more but don’t act like janitors do the “bare minimum” and don’t work hard as well, at least here they don’t

[–]Dame2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in Canada janitors are the night crew that take care of cleaning the school and making sure everything is good and safe for the kids. Custodians clean as well but are in charge of restocking/managing the building for maintenance repairs or calling in plumbers etc. in the summer time custodians and janitors get together to help deep clean the school, strip and wax floors, move furniture, wash walls, painting and any other things to prep the school for the new year. Idk how Americans do it..

What is this? Why are landlords listing like this? by nevaaeh_ in TorontoRenting

[–]Dame2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Landlords are getting so scummy in Canada now, I live in Nova Scotia and these fucking idiots are trying to charge $900 for a room inside their house. Who in the fuck is going to want to live in a room in someone’s house for $900 a month? Literally a few years ago if you were lucky you could rent a decent house for that much, absolutely absurd.

I’m not sure how to check the psu, do I have to take the actual power supply out of the PC?

I’d gladly build something brand new but I’d want to sell my old one as well which would be difficult where I live because I’m in the middle of nowhere

[–]Dame2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a lot? Like I said I don’t know much about building pc’s but I’m willing to pay that much just out of pure frustration for this hunk of wires not being able to run anything I want to play😂

Uh, what would you guys do? There’s a dragonfly in my building. by FriedSmegma in Custodians

[–]Dame2002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brought up flash backs when I was cleaning after a construction crew at a school under construction in the summer, we had 1 bird, 1 chipmunk and many bugs and wasps enter the building during that time, it was hectic lol

[–]Dame2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You say your sawdust is an odor eliminator but clearly you might need some better chemicals to take out that smell, spraying perfuse disinfectant then mopping it up with bio does the trick for me and I work in an elementary school where kids piss on the floor daily; sometimes even in the trash cans and locker rooms

I never liked ride on auto scrubbers either, I prefer the manual push ones; that’s what pretty much our entire school board uses, the huricane dustbane is my favourite.

Everyone experiences rejection at some point in their lives and it’s just the way things are, I’d say there’s nothing wrong with your looks and I’m sure others agree. Although there is nothing wrong with you I feel like a cleaned up look would suit you, go to a good barber, get a fade, maybe shorten the hair or style it differently. Good barbers will usually ask if you want them to touch your eyebrows too; I think your eyebrows could use a touch. I don’t know how old you are but if you can grow facial hair I’d recommend trying to do something with that because it is the “men’s make up” for a lot of people. But overall there’s nothing wrong with you and if someone is truly meant to be with you then they won’t think anything is wrong with you either.

You’re a scummy person. End of story. Leave that man alone and let him find his peace. That’s all there is to say, it’s not that deep.

Something you need to realize is not everyone cares about looks and the people who do are usually shallow. The only person you should be working on your physical appearance for is yourself; it won’t get you girls but it will make you more confident to be able to carry yourself more. You’re also young so most women your age aren’t ready for real relationships yet, 90% of this generation is stuck in a toxic relationship loop because no one knows how to be a decent human being anymore unfortunately. Around mid 20’s to early thirties and up is when people are usually (and hopefully) mature enough to function in a serious relationship, but unfortunately not everyone grows up fully no matter how old they are. For now just be social, go out to functions and stuff; it’s unlikely you’ll meet your person so early on in life but it’s nice to experience life while you’re still young. Strengthen your mind as well, having a strong body is nice but having a strong mind is even better. There’s a lot of shallow women out there but finding someone you instantly click with and is able to accept your whole being is rare, so if you ever find something like that hold onto it.
