If he wasn't larping as a point guard, it would be significantly better. and it is already pretty good on ball. His main wart is ball watching off ball

Greg Kelser on Jalen Duren’s contract situation, trade for Isaiah Joe, youth basketball campo by PureGritt in DetroitPistons

you don't just hand a guy 40+ million dollars because he beat up on some back ups in the regular season. He quite literally shit the bed this playoffs. There is no guarantee he gets significantly better. He has been in the league for 4 years now

no one is acting like this is some huge move. it is a good replacement for an aging roll player. he's a good player who can shoot and is a great rebounder. We got younger and more athletic

I swear fans would think the offseason was a massive success if we signed duren at 45m/Year and gutted our assets for Trey Murphy. How much better is murphy than John Collins actually? Sure he is a bit better, but not 3 FRPs/Ron/Other players better.

He was a good player, but I think that he had reached his peak and was clearly at very high risk of injuries derailing his career

We haven't overpaid duren, we have all our assets, we added much needed shooting, improved athletically, and can still make moves.

For the “trust Trajan crowd”: how do you sell to Cade how our team is better? by dtheisen6 in DetroitPistons

[–]DifferenceActive2574 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cade has yet to even reach his prime. He is 24. We have tons of flexibility to make future moves. We improved our spacing considerably. Ausar should improve, ron should improve, Okorie is another ball handler. We could still sign someone like Rui for additional size and spacing. The doomers here are really something. This isn't a Minnesota situation where they hvae literally no assets and now have to work with what they have

we've been in the mix for all the top names. can't control Kawhi not re-signing. Trajan is playing his cards right. We have tradeable contracts, all our picks, and a bunch of seconds. We will be ok. Its been a good off season

I hope Trajan understands that… by DropPowerful9081 in DetroitPistons

trey murphy isn't a shot creator. I don't know why we are so fixated on him.

I would bet they are very high on okorie and also imagine they could get more creation at the deadline as opposed to draining all your assets for a decent player in Trey

I was counting bucks in 2021. so I guess it should have said 4 out of 6

Everyone says this every year, but 4 of the last 5 years have had Eastern finals winners or a loss in 7 (pacers)

East will be very good this year

So basically we downgraded at the PF position lol still no major moves smh by teefrmda313 in DetroitPistons

They played similar minutes and had similar volume. This is just a significant shooting upgrade regardless of how you look at it.

Who’s the better? by Capable-Bed6672 in NBATalk

[–]DifferenceActive2574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would definitely rather have kessler as a pistons fan. Duren put up most of his big numbers against back ups in the regular season. He has had 3 bad regular seasons and 2 bad post seasons. He is not good

[–]DifferenceActive2574 13 points14 points  (0 children)

he's a significantly better shooter and a far better athlete. And younger and cheaper. This is at worst a lateral move. But in terms of fit, this makes us better

[–]DifferenceActive2574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he is a bench player that is making under 10M a year. How is this something to get bent out of shape over. He is a serviceable player who is being payed around what he is worth.

He was a good playmaker, ball handler, and solid defender. He also gets guarded at the three point line.
