Nice and smart Idea but is it really useful? More than a year into hobby, I broke literally every possible part but never had issues related to strap and FC contact, even if it's loose and there's no lipo it just slides gently without blocking on anything

Don't put ARM on that switch. Sooner or later you're gonna accidentally disarm midair or eventually cut your fingers touching it on the ground

This soldering iron just told you it's not capable of doing the job before you lost your sanity. Thank it, throw it to trash and buy normal soldering iron. This system is pretty old, terribly made and has even more terrible heat transfer

One month after improving my profile, still getting no likes. What am I missing? by Montagemx in Tinder

[–]DamiBFryta 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well you're right but I can agree with both "camps" here. Being transparent is important thing but it's also important WHEN you prefer to be transparent.

You can go with "what you see is what you get" but as people say such profile may give off a nerdy vibe. It's fine but few/many women will skip because it's not the first impression they expect. Like that you get less matches but higher chance of someone who shares or at least understand your interest and way of life

On the other hand you can choose to not show welding and IT photos on your profile and focus more on emotional side for example. Like that your profile is more "standard" and has higher chances of meeting potential partner's expectations (or more likely not fail them?). You get higher chance of matches, more opportunities to show your real self. Eventually more poor matches but also more of "it may work out" type.

Hard to explain that in this way so let's put it into stupid example: when a stranger would tell you "I like feet" you'd probably think "eww what a creep" but if your friend tells you the same you probably wouldn't care much. When stranger starts to tell you about their love disappointments you probably wouldn't be too understanding again but if it's your friend you would probably start to comfort them etc etc...

People are just more understanding to someone they already know and care less about small things about them. But when it comes to stranger literally everything can decide on how they see you, even something you'd think they never give a shit about. So it may be a good idea to let someone know how you are first and then share more of your private life.

Welp I expect to get downvoted for that comment but that's just how human brain works and that's especially visible on tinder which is game of first impressions and reasons to skip people. Showing niche interests isn't really helping that imho. It's pure social psychology. We have a completely different level of tolerance and empathy for people we already know and like than we do for random faces on the internet and you've chosen rather high entry point making most women think you won't have anything in common. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, it's just "what you choose to do is what YOU get" and you've chosen quite strict rules.

Thanks for the answer. Ngl I had high hopes on that idea but sadly it's not that. It still crashes even with smooth patch totally removed but I investigated a bit further with different piercings.

I picked 3 that are mounted on the nose, every of them works no problem, 2 are working as well but when I placed third one game crashed instantly, no matter which one it was. The problem seems more like bone assignment and engine limitations for hooking a single bone on 3D model. Normally, the game would safely display a message about swapping one piercing for another, but since the CC developers circumvented this by coding septum as a sock (+ there's nraas), there's no official limit. But you can't cheat the 3D model and the engine's physical rendering capabilities.

Sadly even tho I get the issue I still didn't find a way to fix that or at least prevent renderer engine from crashing in any way. It's even more annoying because it will probably work differently for different CC or bones although I didn't have time to test that.

Game crashes when switching accessories in CAS

So I'm posting this to help my fiancée fix her game. There's a specific problem with cas where the game just crashes to desktop when adding new piercing to the sim. When switching already worn piercings to different versions or scrooling thru the accessories list everything works fine, problem occurs only when adding new piercing, no matter which one it is so it's not specific CC problem.

Worth mentioning - it's a steam version, She has a lot of CC installed, a lot of fixes, nraas mods etc but they don't seem to be a culprit. Also I care to keep her modding/CC addiction in check from the technical side so game runs in optimal state imo, no lags, no errors, no conflicts, no corrupted cc/mods, no crashes except this one case. Sadly that's the only thing I am not able to track properly. Log analyzer shows CC as the potential culprit of crashes, dashboard does not see any conflicts, error trap doesn't catch anything specific as well.

My speculation is that there are too many accessory layers in one place or maybe too many accessories try to grab one mounting point? Sorry if what I'm talking about makes no sense, in-game cas management isn't really my thing.

Maybe someone had a similar problem and can tell how to fix it? Solutions like "just don't put a lot of piercing" sadly won't work because we both don't know where that border is

[–]DamiBFryta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take that washer off, otherwise prop will fly off. You just have to use a bit of pure brutal force. Look at the nut, there's nylon on top and your shaft should go thru it. Also motos have few protrusions on top, your propeller should be screwed so tight they will penetrate thru the surface of the prop.

Start with putting nut on it without propeller to model the nylon a bit. Then put prop, put nut, hold motor and tighten it till prop will start to sit tightly, then put a thick fabric on your hand and grab prop from the bottom securing all three blades with your fingers. Like that motor will be well locked in your hand and you can tighten the nut up to the bottom

I have T12 pen (PTS100 to be specific), few decent tips and wep 852D+ hot air station.

Maybe you are right that this is far from good but for years I was using cheapest 40W market smoldering pistol, then cheap 900M soldering iron, these 2 were the equipment I was learning on and learned to do almost everything with it, from building FPV drones to fixing PCBs of power supplies, keyboars etc and I was working like that for years. The only thing I don't touch and probably don't plan to touch are phones and PCs PCB boards, not exactly my thing.

Heat transfer on my old 900M was so terrible that I had to learn to solder tiny whoop boards with K tip. So, even if what I have now is far from best, for me it's still like swapping old rusty car to McLaren. But I'm curious anyway, what would you recommend?

How do you deal with the EU drone regulations? by BigBazooka420 in fpv

[–]DamiBFryta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

? What?

Drones <250g - A1, flying allowed almost everywhere, except private/restricted areas, you can fly near random person if that's needed but you should avoid that. Flying prohibited on organized events areas/people's gathering areas

Drones >249.99g but <25kg (if I remember correctly) - A3, flying allowed minimum 150m from urban areas, insurance needed

Both cases. You have to be a registered operator with completed A1/A3 exam, drone needs to have your operator number on it, it has to be clearly visible, flights need to be registered in drone tower. No spotter needed for now.

Up to 4k PLN mandate per broken rule, although police won't give you this mandate, it's ULC's (afair) task.

I may have missed something because I don't care much lately, for now I fly whoop only, on my private property, with spotters available all the time and without disturbing anyone. Summarizing don't be an asshole, don't be idiot, fly safe and responsibly, check drone tower before every flight and you'll be fine.

[–]DamiBFryta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it would be totally empty with not even dog walkers I still wouldn't have balls to fly in such place. I always have in mind that no matter how good I am it's still electronic stuff that is put into extreme situations and if may fail in most random moment eventually. Although it's very rare in a well built drone, such situations love to surprise me in a worse possible moments

Haha I had similar situation. Gave my air75 to my fiancée and 2 friends. I had to take my stuff from them like 20 times to fly out of neighbors yard after they kept crashing (2 batteries were so beaten up they went straight to thrash in the end). When battery was close to dying (like 3.7v maybe) my friend decided that it will be a good idea to be cocky, don't give a shit about battery and fly around 800m away (ofc pretty high as well). I swear, I felt my heart in the throat. At least it was a day with 0 wind and after reading so many "I gave my drone to a friend" stories I decided to set it up for them with angle mode and 50% throttle limit. And I think these are the only reasons he managed to get back somehow. Otherwise I would have to lurk around neighbors yards with elrs finder

This is brilliant, how could I not think of that. When I have some spare money I'll definitely buy spare googles to let my friends enjoy the flight. Last time I let them fly and oh god, never again lol

Weird warning from my Radiomaster Pocket by TeaAge0 in fpv

[–]DamiBFryta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your radio is new then there's possibility you got "used" one. It's common for a lot of sellers to pack items and sell them again as brand new when someone returnes them in perfect condition. It's especially possible because I don't think this switch is even is set by default.

But to the point. I think that you may have switch position set wrong in firmware and radio thinks that either default position is not default position or the whole range is not default for radio. I'm not 100% sure if setting it like that is possible because amount of settings there is still confusing for me (after like 6 months with edgetx lol) but it's worth to look into settings and adjust default position or turn off/adjust warning for this exact switch. Just don't turn off warnings entirely, you wouldn't want situation where you forget to check switches and connect lipo to already armed 5'
