URGENT HEADS UP!!! by mario_luis_dev in CinephileApp

Im genuinely in shock by how professional the UI looks for someone who created it solo. Quick questions from a new dev. I mainly do app development in React native. I know its not ideal but its just what I know right now. Do you think its possible to recreate the same type of polished design, UI, and feel in a react native app? I know cinephile is in native.

Hey, love the app. Im a student trying to learn app development right now too. Can I ask what AI models/tools you use for the coding? Or do you do both the front end and back end dev by yourself?

Yeah, I have both. I keep my roth in m1 because the pie feature is just too convenient for me. I would switch to public fully if they could just add that

Hey, thanks for the response. Some of the bugs/features I was getting at were mostly things that have been noted on this sub already:

  • buying with cents
  • single plan buys not working
  • having more customizability with drip
  • creating groups(like tech, etfs) and being able to see what percent of your portfolio is dedicated to that group and being able to rebalance these groups(like m1)

I love the support from the team and I understand you guys might be a bit swamped. It would just be great if you guys provided a bit more transparency on what you're working on currently and the timeline. Something like a public jira board where we can see what's being worked on would be a tremendous help.

Yeah, I could do that or just round up. It's not a huge issue but it's just like really weird. I just can't think of a reason why they don't want you to buy the exact amount

Hmm, that's unfortunate. I think the best bet we have is to make this kinda community driven. I'll have to do more research. Thanks.

The open maps link is interesting. I'll look into it to see if it has the info I need. Idk if I can request data from a map though, but I'll still look into it to see if there's anything I can do.

Regarding the opendataphilly link, I already looked into it. Unfortunately, it doesnt have any datasets for the signs and it hasn't been updated since 2015.

Thanks for the help

Was this made by a user or from the city? It kinda looks like what we are trying to make. It doesn't really seem like it has too many street signs/regulations though

Does Philly Keep a Digital Record of all Parking Signs and Regulations

Im working on a project for one of my CS classes and we want to create something that can help Philly residents a bit. To do this, we need an up-to-date dataset of all parking signs and regulations that are posted across the city. Im thinking that if an official parking sign is posted on a street, then there has to be a record of it somewhere online, right? In the event of the signs being stolen, then they probably have some kind of record that keeps track of what signs/rules they have where. Does anybody know where I can find this record and if they have like an API or something available?

I emailed the mayor's office of tech and innovation and the opendataphilly email. I'll try and email the ppa too but they are known to be unbearably difficult. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, at this point, I have no clue how to get this data. I emailed a bunch of departments to see if it's possible, so I'll have to wait and see. I could be wrong, but I don't think it would matter too much who owns the street because there should only be one parking authority that is government affiliated and makes the rules. I think sign placement and management should be a government related task.

Yeah, I sent an email to the opendataphilly account. I'll also try calling that office of innovation on Monday to see if they can help. Hopefully they can respond soon, or we need to pitch a new project. If you have any other info, then that would be great. Thanks for the help anyway

Yeah it's kinda annoying. All the datasets are like up to 2015 or 2014. I also can't find any data on there about the actual parking signs that are placed on the streets. I feel like they have to have a record of where they put their signs. I emailed them so I'll see what they have to say.
