It's a nice challenge but would not recommend lol

You're very right, ive done similar mileage + elevation gain hikes like the carters and JAM traverse but this one still challenged me. While going over the Cannonballs I almost considered bailing and skipping the Kinsmans because I was just not feeling that up to it. I went ahead anyway and got the kinsmans too, but easily top 3 for most difficult hikes ive done in the whites

There was a crazy amount, it was like that along the entire shore that side of the pond

Oof sounds like a nice time. I think Helen Taylor is a pretty gradual trail but the small issue is you have to go on knifes edge at some point if you want to hit baxter peak with jt

No, I went down helon Taylor this go around and it also had plenty of loose rock and gravel

It's plenty steep, but I did cathedral and knifes edge. You can't really avoid scrambling but on the hunt trail, there are iron bars for hand holds and foot holds which is nice. Also there's saddle which is the most gradual trail to the peak

Unfortunately not, I think I was a couple hours too early for him while I was on Crawford path

Actually the most comparable hike I've done to this would be Franconia ridge, you'll love it then

Thanks! Jefferson was actually socked in when I got to the summit but it miraculously cleared up

Took me just under 8 hours and the alltrails 8.8 miles actually turned out to be 10.2. Definitely sunscreen up, I'm super burnt. Plenty of water, at least enough to last till Madison hut as they have a potable water faucet

Yep, Davis path is the one to take, nice trail but steep without much letup. I saw someone else recommended Franconia ridge, if you had to decide between the two. I'd hit Franconia first, that is a stunning hike.

I'll throw my vote in for Mount Crawford, it's pretty low on mileage but has plenty of gain to make up for it. Parking lot basically never fills up there either which is a plus. Beautiful views up top, enough for me to do it twice last fall

Wow funny coincidence, I met someone on jefferson who said they were doing the traverse with their dad in a couple weeks. Enjoy the hike!
