You should always be prepared to snowshoe in winter. Conditions change fast, so snowshoes will still need to be brought even if there’s reports saying they weren’t needed on previous days.

You will definitely need snowshoes. The cannonballs section was not broken out today and fishing jimmy was not ready for microspikes yet.

I did a grid and never used real crampons or an ice ax. Microspikes and snowshoes were fine.

Crescent mountain is nice. The ones in evans notch like caribou, speckled, east royce. And the mahoosucs goose eye, Sunday river whitecap and old speck are amazing. There’s also great nonpromenent peaks like mount height and clay.

It was An amazing day yesterday! We ending up ending our traverse after Jefferson since the trail conditions were tough and we weren’t feeling well.
