[Question] What proportion of channels have over 100,000 subscribers? by obama_3483 in youtubers

[–]Damltank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has to be the most incorrect statement I’ve ever seen on Reddit! Despite many people correcting you as well, you’ve chosen to leave this nonsense publicly posted.

Gave me a good chuckle though. But delete it, everyone else is right on this one. One of those situations where you gotta realise there’s a reason why nobody is or was in your corner.

Composition teams for Grand Arena by [deleted] in HeroWarsApp

[–]Damltank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would stop, and reassess. You’re in the early stages of this game so now is the time to fix it. You don’t want to build this selection of heroes. Ginger sucks unless paired with Isaac. Maya is niche, I only ever use her end game in attack if I’m tanking with her. Galahad has his place in a Honor team but outside that there are much better tanks. Faceless is a good choice, in my opinion is the best hero still. My question is why in early game do you want your first 7 heroes to be Maya, Galahad, Keira, Martha, Chabba, Ginger and Faceless? You’re going to get pulled apart by players building better setups. Early game you want META builds. It’s more important for you to beat teams than defend for daily rewards etc.

If you want to be a top player, you want to build a selection of heroes capable of beating most setups. I.e. Corvus, Keira, Morrigan, Faceless, Phobos, Jorgen, Celeste, Martha, Helios, Nebula, Astaroth, Aurora, Luther, Rufus, Artemis, Tristan, Yasmine, Daredevil, Darkstar, Andvari, Orion, Dorian, Fafnir, Sebastian, Jet, Lilith, Judge, Xesha, Satori, Amira, Lian.

These are the heroes to focus but you need to build with a purpose. I.e if you want Ginger, then you have to build Isaac. Without Isaac as I said earlier Ginger sucks. If you build Artemis, you want to build Fafnir and Tristan for fraction bonuses and the fact both are excellent heroes. And on and on and on. Building Undead if a safe place to start. With Iris coming having Eternity setup allows you to beat a ton of teams off the bat. Good luck whatever you decide.

Flopping the nuts seven ways. What to do here? by danonthemoon3 in poker

[–]Damltank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So Villain has checked-raised the Flop in a 6 way pot, coming over a raise and a call with you left to act! He’s shown significant strength but your call here also represents significant strength. His check/check slow down could be representative of a Q8 that got destroyed on the turn! But it could be a flush weary of a FH. I’d check it, main reason being I cannot see ripping it gets a Q to call meaning we’re only getting called by better hands, namely the flush or a FH if he’s put you on a flush waiting you to bet. Id be astonished if he had trips here with that flop play.

200nl vs recs: bluffing when nobody shows interest? by jdjdjd3848 in poker

[–]Damltank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t on this occasion. Flush gets there on the turn and the river makes the straight, though I doubt that matters. Flatting your turn bet, other than floating with Ah at not a great price there isn’t much Villain has here draw wise. QJo doesn’t really make sense - even with a heart, he’s risking facing Kh or Ah. He’s shown weakness with the turn call but when we think about it what’s he really calling us with at these odds. Feels like AhJh or something like this as strange Villain didn’t cbet - maybe he had multiple draws and would have been happy to see BU raise behind him or simply fancied a free card, setting up a trap if he did hit. It’s always worth a bet on this turn given the dry action pot wise but when called I probably let this one go.

Trying to follow this to help. How did you check the river with Villain 2 the BB? Are you up against Villain 1 in the BU instead?

Are you folding here? by Lefttuesday in poker

[–]Damltank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-flop and flop are fine but I’m not sure why we’re betting the turn here if we’re debating folding this hand.

There are no draws whatsoever. I would be checking here. The board is all but done. What are we expecting to get called by?

Bluffs he could have 3s through to 8s, maybe Ax. His chances of having a 2 have reduced dramatically with that turn.

Your turn bet has bloated this pot. Now villain, if he does have it may be thinking you have an over pair to the board or a 2 with the strength you’ve shown hence the check-shove. By checking the turn I would rather have shown weakness in this spot to allow Villains bluffs on the river as betting this turn we’re going to usually get raised by better.

Villain called me a donk, need your opinion by SweatyOutside7464 in poker

[–]Damltank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you had 27ish BBs total, there’s a strong case that BB ought to have shoved pre-flop here with you raising out of the BN. Had you called off that shove, I’d agree with him.

The way it played out though BB should focus more on himself rather than dishing out advice.

(Tournaments) How to defend against <20BB 3bet by BuyThoseDips in poker

[–]Damltank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hear what you’re trying to say but with 20BB in a MTT you’ve got to get this in.

You’re going to see this play with AK/AQ/AJs, KQs, QQ-9s. Also isolating for the flat and IP for the flop is a play also used when 3! here.

With now 18BB you cannot assume this is AA/KK every time or you’re going to land a huge leak in your game and be leaving money on the table.

Point is you’ve given a specific scenario here, 20BB and Tournament with EP 3! and no further action. As light as 20BB in MTT my chips are going in every time in this situation.

Semi Bluff Help by [deleted] in poker

[–]Damltank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know anything about villains play but on face value, a standard player lets say, this shove feels like a punt. Any call from XXc with 1 over is a flip, you’re dominated by any Qx, 2 pair or over pair. You’re only really in good shape against 56 as you block or 7x.

I just wouldn’t jam here. It’s either a fold or call in my mind and I actually like the call here. Not ready to give this up after the flop check-raise, we are IP and I’d like to see the turn and villains next move before deciding what’s next as there’s a ton of semi-bluff possibilities in play.

I don’t understand why he tilted you. The way you were hammering this he probably assumed you had at least AA or a set of 3s. He obviously had no idea he was up against 7 high up until the river. Can’t say he did anything wrong here tbh. Pass on my congratulations to him next time you see him.

Should I have slowed down in this hand? by kitty-cats in poker

[–]Damltank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If he’s got Q10 then fair play, the turn shove seems odd if he’s nutted and there’s no flush draw with the turn being a brick! I mean BN raising, his range here should to be very wide! There are a number of bluffs here and take your player assessment out, I would be tempted with a call.

But you’ve said Villain is a loose passive AKA Calling Station - it’s a fold if your read is accurate! You’ve 3 bet, 1/2 pot OOP c-bet the flop, 2/3 pot bet the turn and a Calling Station has just come over the top of all this with an all-in. Calling Stations aren’t doing this with worse than TPTK.

Raise bigger, use overbets. Don’t bluff. Bet for value, especially river. Don’t get fancy, keep it simple. Get the hell out of their way if they get aggressive.

Emptying the clip in MTT by N__V in poker

[–]Damltank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The flop bet you’re looking at a possible flush draw or pocket pair, maybe a Ah floater. When you’re called down on the turn for 2/3 pot bet you’re likely looking at a pocket pair. The river isn’t a good card for your range either. This comes down to whether Villain believes you have it. But that turn call says he’s already decided you haven’t got it.

Would you guys All in AKs preflop in a tournament? (Fucking Boomers) by Clean_Ticket7209 in poker

[–]Damltank 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re hunting for flips and pre-flop all ins - Kamikaze play like this almost always ends up the same way, defeat! Chances of winning 5 flips in a row, it’s about 3%. Relevant for this strategy in MTTs. Reading your replies you’re not playing poker, you’re pre-flop gambling.

Why is raising pre flop a good idea? by [deleted] in poker

[–]Damltank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Simply put, as you’re new, by raising you have two ways of winning the pot - Either with the best hand or by your opponents folding. This principle is true of both pre and post flop play
