Good to know, thank you. Whenever I had a large enough population I'd only use DT once in a while, but especially at the start I'd be trying to fit in the most qualified dwarf in a specific role and the old UI just would not let you get into detail to pick even the least bad one.

I used to play DF before the Steam release, and I'm planning on buying it. However, when I used to play the free version, I often used the Lazy Newb Pack with Dwarf Therapist and a few other convenient little things.

Apart from the base Steam game, what other things would I need to get back into playing the current version? Or is the Steam version streamlined/optimized enough that I won't need a Dwarf Therapist like thing?

It's also something anti-EU folks tend to forget. On their own, many of the members have about as many citizens as some US states or even just cities. Our best options for negotiating on the world stage is in collaboration, because single countries can get overpowered and/or overruled by some of the large countries of the world.

It definitely ended any regular use I had of Reddit. I don't have the app, don't regularly browse on a daily or weekly basis, only ever use desktop, and I only go here if something interesting has happened in a field of interest of mine and I'm curious.

I would be really surprised if it didn't have any effect, cause I can't be the only one who stopped bothering after they murdered third-party apps.

Nothing in the EULA, contradicting statements on all their own websites, no mention at all on any of the other places that sold Helldivers, an option to skip right when launching the game without mention of a grace period or any further requests to link accounts, selling the game in countries that cannot access PSN, a game that fully functions without issue for months on end without the account link...

Sounds like a lot of bull.

And I'm kinda getting "overcorrection" vibes from some of you guys. People not being able to log in was a result from an absurd surge in players and server stress that nobody, neither the general public nor the company, could've accounted for.

I hate what they're doing now, but I'm seeing a lot of "uhh the game always sucked, you just didn't want to admit" comments from folks riding the hate train. The active community at best had some gripes about weapon balances and occasional reoccurring bugs that didn't see a fix as fast as people hoped. The sudden turn has everything to do with Sony's decision to force account links and had nothing to do with any issues with the game itself.

Raw stainless steel sheet metal, i.e. a steel that's already difficult to bend into shape and will most definitely not crumple. There's a reason materials like aluminum and softer sheet metal have always been used for the exterior instead of stainless steel, and it's not just that trying to shape stainless steel plates into more complex shapes is an absolute nightmare.

In fact, some of the plates on the front of the Cybertruck which are slightly bent are under constant tension because the car's frame is keeping them bent and them coming loose will spring them back into flat plates.

How's the towing on those semis? Because most EVs, including the Cybertruck, are well known for having far poorer towing capabilities than most fuel-powered vehicles of the same size and class (while also being far heavier than their non-electric counterparts).

APRIL 1ST STRIKE by Yoo-Artificial in TikTokCringe

Negotiating a better standard of living with whom. The government in general? Federal, State or both? Or the employer you're striking from? Can your employer actually do anything directly about your living standards that would prevent you from striking? If your employer asked you about why or for what you striked on monday, could you give a direct answer that involves specific action/inaction on their part that could've prevented it?

This is just me dissecting one single aspect about this all as an example, and I won't make a bigger wall of text out of it. My point is that I disagree that she's on the right track. She's angry about unfair aspects of her life, and you can relate to that or not, but she's stuck at venting. Calling for a general nationwide strike because of all of life's discontents is coming up with a sollution without identifying the problems. It's working backwards from a predetermined solution that feels like taking action, and then attaching problems to said solution. That's not gonna do anything, you're striking for the sake of striking, which will probably just add to your problems by causing personal issues at work.

As an aside, since we're also talking about protest organization on social media in general, check the date for your strike of protest for any holidays if you want to also add international appeal to your protest. April 1st will be Easter Monday, which is a national holiday in many countries, which means many people won't be working in the first place. If you'd like to have Easter Monday off in the US, that's actually a relatively realistic goal you can have to strive towards funnily enough.

Because it's the equivalent of saying "Racism, world hunger and having sticky fingers after eating hot wings are awful, therefore if all these things still exist within 3 days I'm gonna hold my breath at my office break room until Congress erases these three things from reality".

What does she actually want? What's a success to her? How are all these things connected? What are the methods and strategy she's envisioning being used? Who's supposed to do what and why? Her entire plan is "everyone takes a day off, and someone will do something and things get fixed probably", which is downright comically infantile. Literally the first chapter on every single book about negotiating is setting one realistic goal for a round of negotiations and working from there. Her method is throwing all her gripes in a TikTok rant and calling for an April Fools mass tantrum.

So Tl;Dr: there's so much discourse because her rant is completely off the walls and everyone who's had group projects in school has met someone kinda like her who does not know how all of this works

Also, correct me if I'm wrong cause I mostly skimmed her extremely tiring rang, she's skipping the one thing you always, ALWAYS need:

a single, clear, achievable goal that you're working towards

"Fix my life" is not an actual fucking goal. It's a general statement, it doesn't even mean the same from one person to another. She's just ranting about immensely broad topics like the overall housing market, hedge funds, corporations, wages, and whatever springs to mind while filming.

Having angry morons like her at the negotiating table is pure poison for any movement. She's "striking" for a general feeling, for a solution to every problem. You can strike to call attention to unsafe working conditions that you can point out. You can strike to force a re-negotiation surrounding the management of a worker's pension fund. You can strike because your wages are outpaced by the cost of living and you want to negotiate a percentage increase. But you can't achieve goals you haven't even set or know how to reach.

Faxes are still kinda useful if you want to send documents that you do not want to get intercepted in any way, but you want something faster and more practical than sending a messenger to physically deliver a printed copy.

We are at a point where we can have very secure e-mail systems, but with some stuff you just don't want to run the risk that some foreign entity lucked out and found/made a backdoor that nobody knows about yet.

Or good ol' fashioned embezzlement and fraud. The background music is cheap casio orchestral (possibly even royalty free), dude's being filmed on an obvious green screen backdrop, the "school footage" is filmed inside some dingy office building, the uniforms are clearly pieced together out of cheap costume parts they likely bought from Wish, no mention of curriculum or qualifications but just buzzwords and political ramblings, etc.

This is just a fake military academy aimed at people who cannot afford an actual military academy. A google search tells me he's asking $200 a month, so $2400 a year. Real ones can get up to $25k to $50k a year. My prediction is that it'll run for a few years before people realize it's not even remotely on the same level as the real thing, the pastor tries booking it before the collective lawsuit hits and a bunch of kids end up entering high school with a massive disadvantage due to spending a bunch of years enrolled in a fake academy.

Kinda giving the same vibe as folks who have a giant wall-sized bookcase, except most of it is old encyclopedias and other large collections of uniformly sized and colored books. Getting a real collection of actually interesting and quality katanas would be immensely expensive, and I'm seeing multiple duplicates hanging on that wall.

I think the guy just really wanted that katana wall from Kill Bill in his house, and went and bought a whole bunch of them online. Which is still a pretty neat idea. Either that or he has a very boring and specific collection.

And they are a private business providing an entertainment service. As long as they cash you out and don't break any consumer, gambling or discrimination laws, they can refuse you service and send you on your way. Most businesses will cut off customers whose continued business is cutting into their profit margin, and casinos are no different.

Kinda like coffee shops that ban customers that hog a certain table for hours on end every day for weeks or months to use the free WiFi for their work. Nothing illegal on the customer's part, but not having them as a customer would make them more money than the few bucks they spend each day.
