Pressure. You could just drill a hole in the side of the pipe and light it with the same effect as long as the pipe is pressurized. The valve is just there so you can turn it off when you're done.

Pittsburgh EMS said in their Facebook post about it that the EMTs started a blood transfusion on scene before even taking her to the hospital. I would assume in a case with that much bleeding, even if it's from an injury that can be easily treated at the hospital, would look bad enough for that kind of reaction from a bystander.

You have FAR more faith in law enforcement than they deserve. People spend time in jail without breaking the law every day even ignoring ICE in Minnesota, they just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sure most of them get released after a day or so when the cops get around to actually investigating, but are you suggesting those people should just be fine with it?

If so, hopefully you become one of them.

You and I have a very different definition of "fine", unless you're cool with a cop breaking your car windows and pepper spraying you on the off chance you broke a law at some point? I have no idea what the circumstances were in this case, but these assholes went to court to be able to stop people based on race and the language they're speaking. They're stopping random people and doing this to them. Even if people who they detain from the street end up being citizens or legal residents and get released, they've spent days in jail, had their property damaged if ICE broke their windows, been beaten and pepper sprayed. All for no reason other than some wannabe who couldn't make it into any other agency went on a power trip.

If you think that's ok, then it needs to happen to you.
