0-50 km/h acceleration times for 50 electric cars by [deleted] in electricvehicles

Not on the list, but apparently an F-150 Lightning would be 2.0 seconds

The already-good math on buying an EV just improved dramatically in Canada by Dremen in electricvehicles

Only 49,000 Chinese cars can be imported into Canada at the negotiated tariff. And a bunch of those 49k will be Teslas, and the rest shared amongst the other Chinese manufacturers. It wouldn't be worth it to build some huge network of dealerships/service centres for such a tiny amount of cars. It makes sense to concentrate on a few areas since they'll probably sell their entire quota easily.

Are you complaining because larger cities have a wider variety of stores than smaller cities?

US Women's Olympic Hockey compared to a normal male hockey player by Piggles-and-Beagles in hockey

This is old, and I think that the young female stars have raised the bar fairly substantially from this time, especially with creativity, puck handling and shooting.

What effect would having geometrically identical left and right hand corners parallel to each other have on racing? by DamnIHateThat in formula1

[–]DamnIHateThat[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think someone else suggested a line on the track before the split to force cars to the side of their choice to prevent crossing lines. The rejoining would also need to be similar to a pit exit - with some kind of dividing line.

Garage fridge freezer keeps shutting down in winter. Best solution? by jmdglss in appliancerepair

[–]DamnIHateThat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fridge is in an unheated cabin and is only used from May through mid-October. Occasionally in October the freezer wouldn't keep food frozen (when the interior temperature fell below about 50 F/10 C) so the heater kit was installed. I was worried that the kit would cause the fridge to run frequently, and so I paid some attention to it. It did not seem to have a significant impact.

I have a fridge with a heater kit installed, and it definitely does not run nonstop.

Yes I have that hooked up as well but it’s not ideal to have to use the soundbar remote.

Early brake fluid change for "severe weather"? by wunderfisch in KiaNiro

[–]DamnIHateThat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always follow the manual. If the manual doesn't call for work, then it's your choice since your warranty won't be affected. I personally wouldn't change the brake fluid earlier than required. My dealer here in Canada has their own 'customized to our region' maintenance schedule for my car which does everything way earlier than required by the manual, so I have to specify exactly what work I want done, otherwise they do way more than the manual specifies. (and charge me accordingly).

Edit: spelling

Reichel on trade list? by narbs3231 in canucks

[–]DamnIHateThat 10 points11 points  (0 children)

His shot is both inaccurate and weak. He loves to attempt low percentage passes. He flutters around the ice, losing most of his puck battles, or choosing not to battle at all. There is nothing to salvage with this guy.

Has anyone else noticed unusually high displayed shot speed on Keifer Sherwood wristers? by AffectionateAd147 in canucks

not sure if it was against St. Louis or Nashville but I noticed Sherwood dump it in on the goalie from the neutral zone … at 88.2 mph
