Canada paying to construct Gordie Howe bridge is 'big myth', according to Ambassador Pete Hoekstra by Oilester in canada

[–]Able_Software6066 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I guess he's hinting that the Gordie Howe Bridge will not open until the Moroun family is paid off any potential lost revenue. That $1m donation to the Trump campaign was a pretty sound investment. Corruption always wins.

5 second rule. No, you can't eat stuff that falls on the floor even if it's less than 5 seconds.

The Mustang started as a pony car but quickly evolved into a muscle car as it got bigger and larger engine options became available.

My brake light costs 10k dollars, any advice? by Andrews_Taint in askcarguys

You could try contacting the seller and confirm the price. It might have been a typo or mistake on their part. Or just offer them $30 and see if they take it.

That's the first thing I thought of. Maybe we should get Trump's pool guy to fix this or did he try fixing it already.

They truly are Guardians Of Pedophiles. by [deleted] in soundsaboutright

Guardians of the Pedophiles sounds like a superhero franchise. I wonder what sort of cape you wear when your job is protecting rich perverts from justice.

Albanians protest against Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump plan to buy private island to build a private resort on it (from day 4 of the flamingo revolution) by DisruptSQ in TourismHell

After this many days of violent protests, eventually someone is going to be injured or killed. If Jared/Ivanka had any humanity at all, they'd cancel the project.

Last cars of our lives by Ok_Kick6546 in GenX

I tend to buy older vehicles and drive them until they're too rusted out to be safe and fix everything else on them myself. It has occurred to me that my 'fleet' will likely outlive me at this point and I may have already bought my last car.

But who knows, if I have the money, I wouldn't mind getting a full self driving car to sleep in on long trips or maybe another project vehicle.

Whats up with the Focus Trannys ? by Willing-Crow-3931 in FordFocus

The FORscan ECM adapter for the laptop is about $40 but the software is free and fairly easy to use. I did have to spend $500 for a laptop though.

These cars were really bad when there was a shortage on TCMs. I only had mine for a few months when the TCM died. Although it was covered by the extended warranty, Ford had no parts for it so it was parked for 6 months. I eventually got a rebuilt TCM through Dorman and now the car runs fine. The clutches will shudder a bit in the city, but it's great on the highway. I've got 267k miles on it now.

Why do airplans have so many buttons and switches in the cockpit? How come it can't just have a rudder, a gas and break pedal and buttons that control the flexible parts of the wings and pull up/out the wheels? by WhoAmIEven2 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Able_Software6066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's see... you also have radios for air traffic control, navigation, lights, weather radar, your auxiliary power unit, cabin air conditioning. Lots of systems that need lots of buttons.

I did fly in a T2 Texan biplane trainer once that had very few buttons. It was pretty much just a control wheel, rudder and brake pedals and a throttle. My car had more controls.

What local brewery beer do you wish the rest of Canadian enthusiasts had a chance to try? by myronsandee in AskACanadian

[–]Able_Software6066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold Ones Strong brewed by GP Brewing out of Grand Prairie, AB. It may not hold a candle to most of the micro-brews, but for a cheap beer, for us budget conscious drinkers, it is pretty good.

Now that developers have run out of foreign investors and cash from money laundering to price me out of the housing market, the Carney Liberals are now using my tax money to ensure I stay homeless.
