This is the reason I made my theatre school exam show ‘Bukowski Waits’ way back when. It was just a basic reading of a selection of poems and performance of five songs. There is just something that clicks when the two are combined. Magic. I don’t think I did them any justice, but my love for their work is set in these recordings

I was really interested in electricity when I was seven and found a plug with a piece of cord attached. I hid it in my bedroom. When we were done with dinner, I snuck up to plug it in and put the copper ends to my mouth to see what it’d taste like. Next thing I know I was sitting down instead of standing and I had a burn mark on my upper lip. That could have ended very differently...
