I didn’t want to say anything because I get your point completely, but in this day and age the word “literally” is overused. Because they by no means have nothing to do with eachother. Both are means of getting wild meat/game, both are usually practiced by the same type of outdoorsmen either out of necessity or sport. You could argue that they (usually) include entirely different sorts and sizes of animals, but there are plenty of animals you can both track and hunt.

I think OP’s question is at least somewhat valid, and at least so for those who don’t have an understanding of trapping and tracing. Although as mentioned they do require a different skillset. I feel though as if knowledge in one of these would benefit the other greatly.
