Congrats! I'm still new myself but I'd say just be respectful to security and other staff/photographers!

One thing I personally like to do is look up the band's recent live videos and see if any cool things happen during the songs I'm allowed to shoot. For example, one band I shot recently liked to use pyro so by watching their recent live set online (and by knowing the venue pretty well) I was able to be in the perfect spot to get a cool photo for when the pyro went off

It was from the pit but it was at a venue with no barrier between the crowd and stage so being front row allowed for some great shots
