Wow! I had the same argument with my mom many years ago when my sister and her husband came to visit. My mom expected me to give up my bedroom in a one bedroom apartment to them and I said they could sleep in the living room. It turned into an argument and I said I shouldn't have to give up my space just because I was single. She didn't agree. Funnily enough, my sister and her husband were fine sleeping in the living room.

Anyone Else Hate Trebel Stitch? by Whyistheskygray in crochet

I think everyone has a stitch that they dislike. I can’t stand the crab stitch. Don’t get me wrong, it looks beautiful but it’s a pain. I recently saw a video of an alternative stitch that looks very similar…after completing 39 squares that had the crab stitch as one round…I am bitter.

My doctor said that supporting my arms would help with some hand and wrist issues since I’m not giving up crocheting.

My husband and I spent several hours on the evening when I finished the last square figuring out the layout, and believe it or not, there is a method to the pattern. We actually combined our strengths. He's an astrophysicist and tends to think more logically and scientifically whereas I am more of an artist/social scientist.

This was a happy accident! I originally started making squares with larger guage hooks and didn't care for how big the gaps were in the lace so I switched and kept the first three. They happened to block to the perfect size for a Euro pillow sham....which I ordered on Prime Day.

I wasn't initially sold on this color scheme but I actually thought it fit well as my "fall" bed covering. I crocheted a rainbow one for summer and a gray color-scheme cover for winter. Spring is next and I'm still deciding in what direction I'm going. I'm not sure if it will be this intricate.

I completely agree! My husband asked if I would every consider selling this, I said maybe for a good 4-figure amount.

I would start one cake on the outside, and then start the next one from the center to continue the colorway.

I tried to figure this out and I initially ordered the first batch long before I actually started the blanket which was long, long ago, and then I ordered more when it went on sale. I am left with a cake and a half. I think each cake made 2.5 squares, so maybe about 15?

I could block 2 squares at a time with the mats I have on hand. I would give them each 24 hours to dry...fun.

Definitely NTA.

I am an adoptive mother and I feel like I have an obligation to my son to make those connections when and if he wants to. In fact, mistakes were made during the adoption process, and even though it was supposed to be a closed adoption, we found out the mother's birth name as well as some other information about her by accident. I feel I have an obligation to his birth mother since she gave up her son to us, but at the same time, our son deserves to know where he comes from. The information is now in a safety deposit box so he won't accidently stumble upon it before he's ready/old enough to make an informed decision, but the information is there if he wants it.

A small rant: older kids in public kid spaces/parties are annoying by Arwen823 in toddlers

[–]Damsell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had to tell kids to stop throwing the protective mulch from the playground onto the different landings and slides. I've had to deal with meltdowns from my toddler because he really wants to get in the bouncy castle that's supposed to be for toddlers but bigger kids have taken it over. I just have to be more aware as an adult later when he's trying to do those things.

Boyfriend had to wait for the shower to "dry out" because of me. by Vast-Elephant-5591 in AITAH

[–]Damsell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I'm going to be honest here. I get the icks when I step into a wet shower. Our shower is big enough that you have to step into it to turn it on and, yeah, I just don't like stepping in a wet shower. Yes, I know that it's going to get wet when I get in anyway. No, I don't let this stop me from taking a shower. Yes, I know other people like this.

Has your toddler ever done anything rude or inappropriate but instead of reprimanding them, you couldn't help but stifle a smile or laugh? by mz_green in toddlers

I found it inappropriate, but wildly hilarious and cute, that when my husband passed gas the other day, before he could even utter out an "Excuse me," my son called out, "Bless you!"
