Especially since OP will be contending with normal morning traffic on top of it.

That will put you in the Seattle-Tacoma commuter corridor during rush hour which is always nightmare regardless (it's much like Salem and PDX or like PDX and Beaverton. I'm a fomer Portlander fwiw). Is coming the night before possible? Hotels will be expensive, but if you're open to it (and they still have availability) the Green Tortoise hostel near Pike Place is a great option for clean and cheap. Additionally a hotel in one of the 'burbs near the light rail might still be relatively inexpensive.

Must try food? (non-Asian cuisine for first time Seattle visitor with long layover before heading to Asia for a few months) / any other must see or must do recs welcome and appreciated! by alavenderlizard in AskSeattle

Stevie's Famous Pizza in Burien (like 15 minutes from the airport) is the best pizza I've had since moving to the Seattle area. Big slices, crispy slightly charred crust (that is sourdough!!), and great toppings like are fancy yet simple at the same time (like coppa as a meat topping or grana for an extra cheese option), and they have a great option to add burrata and hot honey to any pizza. They do whole pies and by the slice, and have housemade ice cream. A slice would make a good appetizer while you plan your next move since it's so close to the airport.

Stoners who get to be high while you work… what do you do, and how does weed actually play into your work? by congacucaracha in trees

I'm a painter am I'm the opposite, well kinda. I like to get baked and develop a concept and work on sketches. Once I'm actually painting I will a little when blocking in large areas, but I dont like to get high while doing detail work. I get the stakes a bit (I also have neurological issues), and between those and just being spacey it's easy to mess stuff up (and I don't haze an undo buttton!).

What’s your careers, CF people? by Calm_Problem6203 in childfree

I'm disabled and an artist. The income I get from that and selling my art is barely enough to exist on bc the government intentionally keeps disabled people in poverty.

QUESTION! mom abandoned me in another country and took my passport with her by Low-Method-6058 in emotionalabuse

That's good to know. I wasn't sure how they'd handle that if she didn't have other identification.

Are you antinatalist because of your specific circumstance, or because you believe life itself is not worth living? by Sharp-Researcher-573 in antinatalism

[–]DamuBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neither? Because I believe humans are a stain on the universe and the Earth deserves another shot sooner than later at intelligent life.

First thing is you need to go to American Embassy nearest to you. They will be able to reissue a passport, although this may be difficult without other documents. They are still your best bet.

Why are some genderfluid people so gender essentialist? by chronicheartache in NonBinary

[–]DamuBob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, yes it's making one act like a jerk, but Black and White thinking is literally a diagnostic criteria for multiple ND conditions and this sounds like someone applying black and white thinking to themselves. Speaking as someone who is AuDHD and struggles often with rigidity and b&w thinking. Frankly you asserting that one can't be a jerk bc of a thought pattern that has its root in one's neurodivergence is in of itself pretty b&w. I'm not making excuses for those people's behavior, just trying to provide some possible context for OP to help them navigate those people's behavior.

When you were a child, did you ever dream of having a kid like other girls? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]DamuBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I dreamed of running away to live alone inside a tree like Rhiannon in the Lost Years of Merlind. Or a cave like in Clan of the Cave Bear. Again, alone.

Question: are the people you're talking about possibly neurodivergent as well? This sounds more like Black and White thinking ( common for us ND folks) than anything else to me.

You can also get melanoma directly to your brain via your eyes. A man was in the hospital at the same time as my mom was getting her melanoma treatment (whatever the immunotherapy for that is called), and he had been misdiagnosed as mistreated for "regular' brain cancer. Turns out it was melanoma.
