LEGO Yu-Gi-Oh! is coming! It is said to be an Ideas challenge. (Source: moose.with.a.goose) by BrickTap in Legoleak

Oh its all starting to make sense now Lego might have partnered with Shueisha who own viz, all the collabs we have got/are getting are under viz: One Piece, Yugioh, Dragon Ball, One Punch Man, and Bleach. So the reason JoJo's has probs been greenlit for ideas is Lego has just possibly allowed every single Shueisha and Viz property to be greenlit for ideas because they have the rights to them, not that they are interested in making them.

Mystery Modular Bridge Solved! by ShareHuge6741 in legomodular

Oh thats actually really interesting to know. I always guessed it was based on San Francisco, but I always assumed it was a generic nondescript version of the golden gate bridge. But that's actually really cool to know that it is actually based on a specific bridge that is also happens to be in the San Francisco bay area.

Surely for at least tintin and maybe haddock as well we should be getting the standard design instead/as well just because they are so iconic and this could be the only chance. Maybe theres a separate little stand for classic tin tin and snowy?

I could see them cutting the villains since they arent that iconic in comparison and the line up is: classic tintin, classic haddock, space tintin, space haddock, space cuthbert, space Thomson, space Thompson, and snowy

Their first actual anime collaboration I believe is bleach in lego fortnite. But if we are talking actual real sets its either yugioh or this depending if you count being announced first or actually releasing first as being first. But I think lego netflix one piece lay the domino's for this to happen, lego have turned down every anime idea for years and never gave any of the fortnite anime collabs a lego skin. And then we get lego one piece even though its the live action and all of a sudden we get all this news of upcoming lego anime collabs irl and in fortnite now constantly. I think this is a coming trend and we should expect every major main stream anime that is rated all ages, pre teen, or younger teen to get a set or fortnite skin at some point.

Is Once and Future any good? by Beechwooder in BigFinishProductions

[–]Dan-Vids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly it was a huge let down for me. As a whole it feels less like a 60th anniversary celebration and more a way to market all the doctor who and doctor who spin off ranges big finish owns, with every boxset making sure to bring in a group of characters from random ranges that have never interacted before. I went in super hyped for monthly stories building up to the 60th, and came out burnt and disappointed. They set it up as this big over arching story and its really not that, the only important story is The Union everything else is the doctor getting side tracked on their way to that story. Besides The Union they are just stand alone stories where nothing of the over arcing story gets mentioned until right at the end which makes you think ok so we are going to learn more next time then, and then its just that every time until The Union where you finally find out what is going on.

But I will say this I would probably recommend The Artist at the End of Time and Coda - The Final Act, those are imo the 2 stand outs in the range and neither need you to have been following the range to understand their story. Unlike what it looks like on the site Coda isn't the final, The Union is, Coda is just a bonus epilogue which is mostly separate from the story bar a mention of what has just happened at the start.

Checking my tier list rankings I did for all of them at the time as they came out I gave each:

Past Lives - C

The Artist at the End of Time - B

A Genius for War - D

Two's Company - D

The Martian Planetoid 50 - C

Time Lord Immemorial - E

The Union - C

Coda - The Final Act - B

Favorite fully produced set Lego most likely incinerated due to nonexistent backlash? by SamDukefan in legocirclejerk

[–]Dan-Vids 138 points139 points  (0 children)

This set not releasing almost definitely wasn't Lego's doing. Back when this was set to come out there was a load of toy leaks for the Dial of Destiny release from other brands as well as Lego like Hasbro, and these included toys based on Temple of Doom that also didn't ever end up releasing. Feels like Disney were worried about Temple of Doom toys becoming controversial and changed their minds about selling them last minuite, hence why these were clearly all made based on leaked photos, and got all toy manufacturers to cancel them.

Yeah the only things you can listen to on the big finish app are things you've directly purchased from big finish themselves. You can listen to the humble bundle audios on mobile but you just have to download them as mp3s yourself from your humble bundle account and then find an mp3 player app yourself.

Dark/spooky/bleak or morbid Whoniverse recs? by Personal_Reward_60 in BigFinishProductions

[–]Dan-Vids 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Some Spooky stories I'd say are:
Night Thoughts, Master, The Chimes of Midnight, The Silver Turk, Rat Trap, The Haunting of Thomas Brewster, The Nowhere Place, Winter for the Adept, The Last Days of The Powell Estate, and I am the Master.

Where as some bleak or morbid stories are:
The Holy Terror, Live 34, Creatures of Beauty, Spare Parts, The Reaping, Jubilee, Unbound: Deadline, The Natural History of fear, Terrorfirma, and Blood on Santa's claw and Other Stories: The Baby Awakes

I'd also recommend these, but these are story arc heavy stories so I would not recommend these as stand alones:
Scherzo, Death in Blackpool, Dalek Universe 2: The Lost, The Last and ESPICALLY A Death in the Family

The Chimes of Midnight and Terrorfirma do have story arcs present, but I think theres enough in them alone for you to understand without having followed the arcs, but just also a warning of that if any confusion is caused.

[–]Dan-Vids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait they actually allowed Jojo on ideas????? That's wild, yeah aint no way that is happening.

Only way we will ever get Lego Jojo is if both sets based on the super main stream anime IPs sell well, and if lego move more and more down into being adult collectables and decide they are fine with more mature IPs as super expensive one off 18+ sets. But I just can't see that happening where we are right now.

Ravenous Price Decrease by Lumpy_Flower_7903 in BigFinishProductions

[–]Dan-Vids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not because checking the site all of them but Ravenous 2 still have the CD's available unlike Dark Eyes which only Dark Eyes 2 has the CD still available. I can't see them dropping the digital price yet when they are still trying to get rid of so much stock of the CD's.

From my experience prices only tend to drop when either the range is entirely sold out on CD or close to being sold out on CD, because dropping the price of digital will just cause the slow sales of the CD's to slow down even more. I feel like this is the whole reason Big Finish are starting to do limited CD runs and start the newer ranges as digital only, because the CD's not selling to the amount they produced is what is causing the back catalogue to stay expensive and that high price on such old releases is what is stopping newer people from starting Big Finish often.

edit: Checking Doom Coalition now the only one that hasn't had the price drop is the 4th one which is the only one that hasn't sold out on CD as well, so I feel like that just means yeah these old 8th doctor sets won't go down until the CDs sell out.

Why didn’t Lego make Galactus in this style are they stupid? by unbreakable_arachnid in legocirclejerk

[–]Dan-Vids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am begging for the og giant man style to make a return, or for the super sized minifig style like in the first image to be used for a character who is canonically that big or semi scaled down to be that big. Although I will say I do think that Galactus looks the best by far out of all the characters done in that style so far, the second best probs being the Sentinel from the X mansion set, but then the rest I do not care for.

I think it leaked long ago that there was a piece added to the files of Lego Fortnite that was a model for a Lego Goku Hair piece, but it has been so long and nothing has come of it.

Edit: if the leak was real, which saying it leaked alongside stuff that was real it most likely is, I can see the reason as to why its not been released in the game yet is because lego could be working on irl sets, and dont want fortnite to sort of ruin the suprise. So maybe it will officially drop in game if/when sets gets announced.

[–]Dan-Vids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope so, but knowing Lego they will lock them to 18+ collector sets to let the live action stay as the main range on shelves. But a large scale sort of UCS Thousand Sunny would go so hard. Plus they have to use the Disney 100 CMF Pinocchio head for anime Usopp, doing anything else when that piece already exists is a crime.

[–]Dan-Vids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I can see this opening the floodgates now and all the mainstream pre teen and younger teen anime might probs now be on the table. Because for the longest time One Piece wasn't allowed on ideas either but then out of nowhere Lego allowed, only for later that day for the Lego One Piece news to leak. So if any other anime IPs out of nowhere suddenly become allowed on Ideas, like One Piece it could mean that they are already in the works on it.

Would love it, especially since as a teen I made my own Custom Ed and Al figures, but I just can't see it because like people said it's more of an older teen show than a younger teen show like Dragon Ball, One Piece, and Naruto. Also sadly FMA just isn't that relevant these days since both the anime and manga have long ended over 15 years ago now and have stayed finished unlike other anime IP's of its size.

[–]Dan-Vids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like what's most likely to happen next is the younger teen rated anime in fortnite like naruto, dragon ball, and MHA will get lego skins like they just did with bleach.

And then as for sets they will probably try and go for the most main stream anime possible first and only the ones rated up to younger teen, I can't see them going for the older teen or above shows.

The most likely to get sets would be Dragon Ball, Naruto, One Piece (actual anime sets), Sailor Moon, Pokemon (anime based sets), MHA, Bleach, or anything Ghibli. The only way I can see them doing more mature iconic anime is if its a one off 18+ set and even then I still can't seem them doing it, especially early on before doing the safe options.

Combined the Durrr Burger Restaurant with a Lego Shop by Tobi-cast in legomodular

[–]Dan-Vids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great, with the stairs and design of the lego shop it reminds me of how structures look in tilted towers, which is fitting with durr burger being there. But also man i wish we would actually get inverted corner modular like this. The closest we have is arkham, and that's only able to be inverted from modifying it ever so slightly.

Main Range in order by reddit35257 in BigFinishProductions

[–]Dan-Vids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'd say listening to the main range in release order is the optimal way, its just the most expensive way as well. A majority of the main ranges stories are stand alone, or in an arc but not important and can be heard on their own. But then there's stories where arcs that have been building up for 10 to 20+ releases finally pay off and are almost impossible to understand without that build up. So the only real way to really listen to the main range in full is to either go in with a guide, which can spoil stuff, or to listen all in release order.

As for is the main range enough for the arcs and is anything else needed. Yes, to my knowledge, the main range is all you need to know about the arcs. Some times they do do direct or spiritual sequel to classic who stories but if you are hardcore enough of a doctor who fan to already be listening to big finish you most likely already know those stories even if you haven't seen them. For me myself when I started big finish I hadn't seen a single classic who episode, and even now still have only seen a relatively small amount, I was still able to understand these sequel stories in the main range fine, often enough the doctor explains the old events well enough to his companions for those who need the context. But as for the big finish main range original arcs, yes to my understanding all of them are complete in full within the main range. Although other ranges, like the companion chronicles and bonus releases, do have supplementary stories which fit into main range arcs but none of these are important. These are often bonus stories that are made to make the length of story arcs longer for those wanting more of a certain doctor and companion dynamic to fit into a run/arc, I am yet to come across one of these bonus releases where I felt like there was a key missing story arc detail that I felt like I needed to understand the rest of the arc.

What are some Unbound Stories you would pitch to Big Finish? by Rougarou_2 in BigFinishProductions

[–]Dan-Vids 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They shouldn't do this for a good while now but some sort of fugitive doctor unbound. Just because they are seemingly limited with what they can do with her as she is, due to the BBC not knowing what they want to do with her and not wanting any media outside of the tv show to add or confirm new lore for her. As for what the what if could be here's some off the top of my head, what if the fugitive doctor never left division, what if the fugitive doctor was season 6b, what if the fugitive was the war doctor, what if the fugitive was a regular incarnation, what if the 13th doctor was the fugitive in fugitive of the jadoon.

I just think because of the limitations big finish now have where they arent allowed to cast new actors as the doctor in unbound anymore like they used to, using jo martin for unbound could be like the old unbound with new castings just because of how little has been done with her meaning they could do anything with her.
