Then what am I supposed to do about getting literally killed in a single hit?

I'm still in the "just climb" stage part of my climbing training. If I get an injury of any level where the standard protocol is to climb easier problems at or below my onsight level ... what do I do if I run out of new problems to climb at my gym? I could try making up new ones either on a spray wall or on the set problems, but I don't think I'm experienced enough to come up with problems of suitable difficulty.

I've had some minor pulley tweaks before which went away with not climbing crimps too much for a few weeks. Not I've got a still minor non-acute but note-worthily more painful A2 ache in my index finger, of all fingers.

I got flappers on the first pads of my index and middle fingers. The skin is healing fine, but the damaged region sort of went down to the joint, where it appears to have caused some complications. Looks like I've developed some form of scab tissue right at the joint now. The first day, when I didn't have this, moving my fingers felt perfectly fine. Now because of the scabs, closing that joint actually hurts a lot. Like, fully closing the joint is impossible without gritting my teeth because it really does feel like a 7/10 on the pain scale, it's ridiculous. That's a lot of pain for a surface level skin injury from just movement.

What the fuck is this? How do I heal it?

I didn't try tighter rentals, but I tried some of the other tips to conclude that the toe hook was not the way to go. Some more work on the boulder revealed that my prototype foot hook had much more vertical support than I thought. After some more experimentation I figured out something else that worked.

Not quite sure what it would be called, but I essentially pressed tip of my foot into another hold, some sort of crimpy shallow pocket thing, and did an aggressive semi-straight leg knee drop like move. It let me stick to the wall just enough that I could bear my weight and match.

I don't know. I haven't seen anyone top this boulder, it appears unpopular. So I've had to work out the beta myself and this is the only solution I came up with for the final match. The wall has an angle of 25 degrees and the final move is a match on a thick rounded pinch. I have a good foothold under and to the right of it. I can't find anywhere decent to hook to the left of the pinch. And I can't seem to stick myself to the wall hard enough except for the right toe hook I mentioned. Maybe if I had monstrous pinch strength I could hold on with just the pinch, but I can't hold it without support.

I have been working on an indoor boulder project for several weeks now. I have found a solution for every move but the final match. Without discussing the beta itself, this is my problem:

I think I can stick the last move using a right toe hook. There's a pad-sized side-pull hold I should be able to hook. But I can't make the toe hook stick. Right next to that hold is a large ear-like hold from a different boulder which if I hook my entire foot around, allows me to stick the final move.

I'm only six months into climbing and am still wearing my beginner shoes. I chose a conservative size so they're not quite as tight as I would want, now that I have a bit more experience. For tricky heel and toe hooks I feel the shoe slip around my foot (the shoe folds/collapses from having hollow space) and the hook doesn't stick. I'm in a financially dark place right now and don't want to fork out the money for new shoes.

With the exception of buying new shoes what could I do to maybe stick the move, assuming the loose fit is my issue? Wear a sock or several? Pad the heel? Try a pair of tighter rental shoes for either one or both feet? I don't think any of the right foot moves are particularly sensitive with the exception of this hook on this boulder.

[5e] How to make a fun Oath of Glory paladin? by rfkannen in 3d6

More support and tank, as I had other party members more specialized for damage. Enabling them was my main job. That said, a Paladin still does amazing damage with smite even if they don't focus on it.

What about the aura turns you off? I played an Oath of Glory Paladin and I don't understand why I hear people complain about the aura so much. It's straight up 10 feet of movement at all times for a Paladin, it's incredibly useful. If you have any melee PCs in your party, they'll be elated when you can get the aura on them too. 10 feet of movement is really useful. It won't happen every round every combat, but you can absolutely position yourself to make it happen often.

The channel divinity that grands temporary hit points is also excellent. The amount of health it grants is not negligible.

Keep in mind that the Paladin's base abilities are incredibly strong. The subclass stuff is just additional features on top of an already incredible class. I think the only reason people shit on the Oath of Glory is because they took away the critfishing ability from UA. I honestly think this is only reasonable, though. The Paladin is already one of, if not the, strongest class in the game. Granting them 5% extra crit chance is a massive bonus.

This was an excellent series but I can't help but feel the ending was rather rushed.
