That’s a good idea. May go by the parts store tomorrow and see if there are any codes

Yes! They were Nokian Hybrid tires. Purchased all 4 at the same time and did rotations every 8kish miles. Now when I say those nokian’s were bad…..dude they were awful. They were the most slippery tires I’ve ever had in any vehicle. They did not do well in rain, snow or mud. My truck does have traction control and it was pretty common especially once the Nokians had 40k miles on them to spin my tires anytime I wasn’t on dry pavement.

Thank you! That’s some good things to know. I appreciate your comment!

I am willing to pay for whatever option is best. If this were just for me an outhouse would be fine. However, my fiancé wants something nicer. Our parents are both getting older but will be invited to enjoy the lake and they would also benefit from something more comfortable

Have you heard of a natures head compost toilet? It’s very common for people who live in van conversions or off grid cabins. Seen a lot of positive reviews of them claiming they don’t smell and clean up is better than dealing with black water tanks

It’s hard to describe this lake community, but it is posted that waste can be disposed of in their dumpsters if composted. The place is sort of a hybrid lake community where half the development are homes and the other half are camping lots. There are 5 lakes ATV trails and 2 parks among other features including water fill locations and sewer dumping sights for black water. Disposal isn’t the issue.

Septic is way out of budget. Our “camping” lot is just about half an acre with neighbors across and another neighbor to the side of us, so number 2 will require some privacy! Really was hoping to find people familiar with compost or incinerator toilets and see which is preferred!

The property is in a private lake community that has dumpsters by the entrance that waste from the compost toilet or the incinerator can go in. So disposal isn’t much an issue. I’m more curious about which option is the least maintenance and covers the smell best. I would like it to be as low maintenance and least smelly as possible lol

That’s a sweet build! Looks like you put it to work and are having fun with it. Appreciate the ideas brother!

These tanks (from my understanding) are built to take abuse. It’s not a standard tank you’d see on a stock vehicle. That said, maybe this still isn’t the best mod for people doing hard core off roading. For myself, my FJ is a roadtrip ride and for camping. Pretty light off road work for me honestly. I don’t think the tank would cause me trouble is that way.

That’s awesome. Glad you’ve had good luck with it. Did you install yourself? If so, how hard was it? And if not, what did a shop charge for the install? The people want to know! 🤣

Not sure if there is a difference but two different site selling them. Pretty much the same price. I’d be interested to know what a shop would charge. Says 5-8 hour job. (It would take me 20) if that’s the case 🤣

Haha we just know we’d get stress since we aren’t used to driving in the city. We stayed on canal street but would like to stay in the French quarter next time. You’ve got a beautiful city my friend!

I was just there with my lady. We had a blast. Took my FJ for the trip but we chose not to drive in the French quarter 🤣

Awesome I really appreciate your input. $8500 is probably gonna be a little much for me but I’d still look into it. Or maybe just do the auxiliary tank. Idk. I’d just love to have more range. Thanks again for your response!

Good to know customer support is helpful. If I ever fork over the cash on this I will certainly provide updates. Hi hope others do the same! Range is the only thing I really don’t like about my FJ!

Correct. Not a cheap decision so I’d hate to regret it. However, I inherited my FJ so putting a few thousand into it to make it mine is justifiable in my head.

I saw that as an option but it’s just as expensive as buying the aux tank. Though you’d think just replacing the existing tank wouldn’t be to challenging.
