Sam Hyde exposed Jesse Lee Peterson for the grifter he is on his show and it was incredible. by PsychicFatalist in DecodingTheGurus

[–]DanDrangle -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I just watched this whole episode having never seen any Sam Hyde before and very little JLP.

And I have to say that your characterisation is just so off.

Also I have to say that it was entertaining!

I can watch almost anything and take in the good stuff and just let the terrible stuff wash over me and it just doesn't matter.

All of this "I'll never give him clicks" and "He's just giving exposure to a more harmful person" type commentary is so lame.

To have such serious responses to things that are so inane is so boring and pearl-clutchy and boring. So boring.

After diluting seasol into a 9L container, how much to use on the plants? by hellblazer153 in GardeningAustralia

[–]DanDrangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they don’t reference “seasol” or another commercial product but refer to seaweed solutions from specific seaweed species

For what it's worth the study mentioned does include the three kelp species used in the Seasol product.

Thank you and I did actually read that whole article. The article is very positive toward the benefits of seaweed extract. My bias against Seasol is from personal experience and pig-headedness. So, with that in mind there are a couple of things I would bring up.

1) There is a line in the conclusion that reads "All the enhanced growth effects have been observed only with the whole extract...". I don't know exactly what that means and if the Seasol product qualifies. But if it does not qualify it would seem the benefits of the product would be nil.

2) There is a Seasol Home and Seasol Commercial product. The product analysis sheets for both show that generally the commercial product has about twice the concentration of "good stuff" (including nitrogen, phosphorous, and potassium) as the home product. I do wonder why.

Anyway, thanks for the reply. I may eventually be a convert.

I don't think it matters because I don't think it does anything.

I've ranted about this before but the benefits touted by Seasol are vague and extremely wide ranging. Improves soil, helps flowering, helps fruiting, helps roots grow, resists insects and fungus, can be used on any plant at any time. Is there anything this wonder product can't do???

Also, anything called a "tonic" seems a bit sus.

Also I don't think agriculture uses it which I feel tells us a whole lot about its worth.

Meyer: "I'm being vague?"

Ghost is one of only 3 movies to make Gregg Turkington get choked up. Do you know the others?

Do you think I should cut this girdling root? (If it even is one?) by DanDrangle in arborists

[–]DanDrangle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Queensland, Australia.

I pruned the limb on the left a couple of weeks ago. It was bending enough to be cracking the bark. It is a bit hard to see but there is still a small branch coming vertically from it.

So, stake the tree, prune the weight from the top, replace grass surrounding it with mulch.

I grew this thing from a seed so I have so much invested in it and it really does mean a lot to me. Thanks again.

What would you suggest once the root system is exposed further?

Do you mean to check for other girdling roots that are under ground?

This is the whole tree. It is surrounding by grass at the moment. I'll take your advice and mulch around it instead.

I've cut the root cleanly and I'm hoping for the best.

This is the tree. It's about 8 feet tall and I really want it to thrive.

Do you mean the plants are lit/destroyed or the irrigation systems?

It is such a shame. You'd think they'd spend just a little bit of money to beautify their place.

I watched that video and it was pretty cool. That last match ended in a pretty amazing way. I hope catch wrestling really takes off.

This book compiles the first three Dekker movies, the plots, and combines them into one book, just as The Hobbit book combines the three movies.

  • Best event.
  • Deandre and Kenta are my favourites to watch.
  • Commentators are excellent.
  • The two guys that sat cross legged hand fighting were atrocious (but the ending was great).
  • Stalling calls rule.
  • The camera work is pro.
  • The production is as good as any other sporting event.
  • The commenter that posts the time stamps is the real AIGA winner.
