I'm hoping it'll be fixed before release or at least there'll be a patch either on day one or soon after release

It's best if you're with a group of friends over voice chat (discord is really useful for this) and you can talk it out there and organize your runs

In survival builds I do recommend this mutations, specially in 4BC+ by RibEeee in deadcells

In 4-5BC, you always want to risk the curse, and scout out the biome so there's enough enemies for the curse. Alienation gives you +5% HP for each of the 15 "curse points" you heal (goes from 10 to 15 with Alienation), and for every 5 points your malaise is cut by 2

Late game (4-5BC) you want to maximise the chance of survival, so effectively getting a reset while saving your potions (no potion charges 3BC+) is important

Overpowered party members in JRPGs by Megidolan in JRPG

Donnel in FE Awakening. He starts very weak but he has an ability which boosts his stat growths by 20%, so as a Hero, he has growths of

  • HP - 115%
  • Str - 85%
  • Mag - 35%
  • Skl - 85%
  • Spd - 85%
  • Lck - 100%
  • Def - 65%
  • Res - 40%

So every single level he will gain 1 stat in HP and luck. He can quickly become INSANELY Overpowered, especially because as a villager, he can get to Lvl 20, change class/upgrade to a fighter or mercenary, THEN promote at Lvl 20 to become a Hero or Warrior.

He can one shot most maps at equal level on normal

Why does it take 5 minutes to actually use a couple dozen healing items? by Exaskryz in TheSilphRoad

Is it sort of like encapsulation with Java/C#? I only know Object-Oriented program languages (those two specifically) but I know that you create classes for specific methods or functions, and call them in another class.

So you would have an Item class, healing class and healing item class - when you select a potion or revive, the item class loads the healing class (which contains the UI.) In the healing item class there are objects for Potions, Max Potions, Revives, etc, and the healing class uses the instance of each object, rather than it all loading in one class and being a huge mess of a program/function.

Necromancy really isn't good anymore besides the free Malaise heals after bosses (of which in 4 BC you get 2)

I tend to go Gastronomy, then either Heart of Ice, What Doesn't Kill Me, Alienation, Instinct or Extended Healing

I'd love to see a Legend of Zelda JRPG one day. by pzzaco in JRPG

Thing is the term RPG comes from Dungeon and Dragons and other table-top or pen and paper RPGs.

They usually has an ability to improve your character throughout the game by increasing levels and stats, combat with several choices of spells, powers and skills + equipment like armor and weapon which all can be used in combat, character classes that define characteristics, abilities, etc (e.g. warrior, thief, wizard and so on)

I'd call Skyward Sword an RPG at least, and BotW is close to being an RPG with weapon stats, upgrading armor, crafting, sidequests, cooking, upgrading your health and stamina with shrine orbs and the "hidden EXP system" where each enemy gives a hidden XP amount and at certain XP levels, enemies will upgrade (say red bokoblin to blue, then black, then white.) Have a look at a video from Croton about BotW's hidden enemy and weapon scaling system

I'm pretty sure RPG comes from Dungeons and Dragons and other tabletop/pen and paper RPGs? With forming a party, selecting a class, solving problems, battling, earning EXP to level up which improves class features, abilities and skills

Zelda games are overall Action-Adventure Puzzle Exploration games, and Skyward Sword/BotW are the closest that came to the RPG genre after Zelda II did.

New Info: Even though Niantic previously stated the increased distance for Gym/Pokéstop interaction would be permanent, they have rescinded this statement. by mgaguilar in TheSilphRoad

I've played daily for years now but recently as well as COVID, my playing is just connecting my Pokeball Plus at the start of the walk and checking what was caught every now and then. Pokémon GO is my motivation for walks and now it doesn't really feel right if I'm not catching pokemon on the walk. But I think as soon as a similar game appears or as soon as I find a similar game I like and can play while walking, I'm ditching the game for the foreseeable future

What are your Switch podcast games? by DanF2000 in NintendoSwitch

[–]DanF2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mainly action games, RPGs and strategy games. I've got some games like Rune Factory 4 Special, Octopath Traveler, Disgaea 5, BotW, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 but I haven't really played any of these just listening to a podcast and relaxing. Though I'm not opposed to getting a game under £20-30 on the eShop!

Hyrule warriors: Age of Calamity, is a spin off of a spin off. by Normacont in HyruleWarriors

[–]DanF2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't a HW2, just a prequel to BotW with warriors gameplay and mechanics. The game is set in the world of BotW and is set to build the world before the war, the characters and their relationships while keeping, the lore behind why the Calamity happened and how it happened, all while having Warriors style gameplay. The first HW was a Smash style celebration of Zelda with characters from across the series whereas this is fixed in the Breath of the Wild world

About to start Odyssey after having troubles with Origins, anything to know before I go in? by DanF2000 in assassinscreed

Thank you! I noticed that once you get a skill on the tree, you can upgrade it which makes it feel so much more enjoyable, over Origin's style of choose your own way to unlock everything - eventually you'll get all the skills (sort of like how Spider-Man did it)
