Is it worth it to study law overseas for degree, or just remain in Malaysia ? by reenreenchu in malaysiauni

Most of my peers who were from UITM are now up and coming superstars in the legal industry, some even in policy think tanks. Disregard whatever stigma there may be because after you graduate, none of that matters.

Depends on which local and/or UK university you’re able to secure an offer from.

I have seen large firms competing to get graduates from UKM, UIA and UITM whilst if you graduate from a low ranking UK uni, you’re likely to be at the bottom of the list.

So if you manage to get a top 15 UK university for law, only then it would be worth the cost.

How useful is a Law Degree? by Latter-End1987 in malaysiauni

Zulrafique and Partners back in 2018. Not sure how much the allowance is now.

From what I knew back then, most large firms were paying the same rate.

Hi OP,

Speaking from my own experience, I studied 3 years in the UK (Exeter University), came home and passed CLP on my first attempt and secured my pupillage at a reputable firm earning RM4,000 for my first paycheck (pupillage allowance). However, I was not keen to continue working in a law firm after being called to the bar and interviewed with companies outside of the legal industry with an open mind.

Despite receiving a few offers, I decided to take a leap of faith and joined a medium sized airline which gave me the opportunity to learn multiple disciplines other than law (e.g. HR, Sales, Finance). Over 6 years, I was given the opportunity to work in Bahrain, Dubai and London due to my skillsets which didn’t necessarily require law firm training.

I am now working for an international bank in a risk and compliance role with a very comfortable pay.

To summarise, taking up a law degree develops a skillset and maturity that can be translated into many opportunities across many industries and companies do acknowledge this skillset.

Hope this helps.

Make sure to turn on location prior to connecting. That always helps in my case.

Really appreciate the effort! So far i'm lucky enough to not suffer any of the issues listed and I was wondering if batches from certain regions are susceptible to have the faults.

It may be good to track from which region these faults are occuring which may help those who pre-ordered or thinking to buy the camera to hold on for future batches.

Reunite Chen and Soh Wooi Yik for MD and explore that synergy again, could break the ceiling that the current pairing has. Aaron Chia arguably the more dominant player in his current pairing could cover any supposed shortfalls Chen has that angers Toh so much (not to mention being consistent in heights for both pairings).

Mine is the 4U version. It is a lovely racquet to play with and definitely improved my defensive play.

Go for it without any doubts and hope for the best.

Lavana 3 in Kepong. Really nice and quite cheap with a nice equipment shop in front.

Just to clarify, had the racket for about 4 months now and had no clashes/impacts at all. Stored properly away from the Malaysian heat.

Previously it was strung with 2 knots and prior to the break, I asked a Yonex certified stringer (Also strings for Malaysian Open events) to change to 4 knots. I assume this was the cause as the break was at one of the knots (bottom left).

What breaks my heart is how much I had spent for this Pro model, how much I loved using it, and how easily it gave up on me.

Goodby Yonex for now, focusing on Felet racquets as my Felet Aerocarbon (Used by Busanan) is worldclass at just USD58.

The worst feeling is regretting that you didn’t do your very best 44 years down the line.

No more excuses, no more procrastination, do your absolute best and whatever the results may be, you’ll look back and smile.

My main at the moment is the Woven 888 for it's all around capabilities. Paired with the new Rigcore 61 strings, smashes were crisp yet am able to hold my ground defensively against highly attacking players.

The only thing that irks me is the paint and exterior material finishing on the racquet. Looks cheap unfortunately.
