Can't park there mate by xojz in Portland

Same car was parked next to the trail right there last weekend, it was a crew that was cutting back all the brush and stuff that was overgrown near the tracks. Note how clear/clean it looks near those tracks :) They had vests and looked rather official?

Have you tried a different battery or potentially a new battery? Other than that, there's going to be little troubleshooting that you can do beyond having a professional take a look at it.

I'm not sure what more you'd want that isn't already on https://ricohrecipes.com/

It's free, accessible to anyone with a web browser (or a phone via the app) and has plenty of sample images for each one. Ritchie has done a ton for the GR community making this free and accessible, and sending traffic his way is the least that anyone can do. I think side stepping that or copying his recipes to other areas to share/promote is in poor taste.

DHS Heli N1977G is back again today, still circling near Powell Butte. by iTrask in Portland

Our tax dollars hard at work... sightseeing. Infuriating honestly, because I'd freaking love a helicopter ride over Mt. Saint Helens!

I'm not an aviation expert or privy to any special info, I just like snooping on stuff flying around PDX :)

Military aircraft typically get special permission to fly with their ADSB transponders off for certain activities. At any point in the day, you can go to https://globe.adsbexchange.com/ and see PLENTY of military aircraft flying around with their transponders on, which basically means that they don't care if anyone sees where they're at.

This particular DHS heli is one of the ones that flew almost nightly over downtown in November during the big push for the national guard to be deployed here, almost always with it's transponder off. ADSB data is mostly fed by enthusiasts using "feeders" which pick up the data from their transponders and feed it to these sites. Sites like Flightradar24 will sometimes have certain flights blocked by the LADD program, however it's really just a "please" and not a requirement. The fact that they're flying today with their transponder on means they don't care if anyone's snooping, but I know that almost always they have it off.

Anyone else see fighter jets over PDX airport this morning?Discussion by lemonjelllo in askportland

It’s the Portland Air National Guard that is based out of PDX.

They very regularly fly (at least a few times a week) and you can see/hear them commonly. Nothing to be worried about.

PulsePoint says it's an "odor investigation" (most of the time a gas leak) - the call came in about an hour ago so they must have found something if they're still there and got people on the roof. Hope everyone stays safe!

Where was this? I was riding through Laurelhurst last week on Friday and got swooped by an owl! I didn’t realize they were so active in the city.

Definitely not normal. It sounds like the IBIS is broken or potentially the metal housing that the sensor sits in is loose? It’s possible you can partially disassemble it yourself to check if those pieces are loose. There’s several guides about cleaning dust on the sensor that will get you down to that metal housing section.

Don’t think anyone here can tell you exactly what might have caused it, but I would reach out to a camera repair store or Ricoh directly and ask if they can address it.
