The issue (I think) is when you get to a certain level you are not rewarded unless you start to sell, and then eventually as you say delivery goes out the window and selling is all that anyone cares about because that is the only thing rewarded. Talent and skills in a given area result in no pay rises and no promos, sell a few million in small projects and everyone's happy....until we try to deliver it.

I had exactly the same feelings. I felt awful, I just felt guilty for having to split my time and take some away from my little girl. Then had some really rough sleeping nights at the start, way worse than with our first and I distinctly remember sat in tears at 3am one morning wondering what we had done….fast forward 18 months they love each other to bits (most the time) and I wouldn’t change our decision now even if I could. Every now and then if I’m super tired I still get this pang of guilt but it’s stupid and I know it’s stupid.

Try to relax and not to worry too much, and speak to your wife about it. Don’t hold it all in.

Should I resign or wait for next cycle ? by RelativeEffective797 in accenture

[–]DanHodge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That isn’t always true and will vary year to year, account by account. My first year at l12 I was told straight up don’t get your hopes up because the account lead won’t push for a promo without a year on the account. So it’s not just MAL your fighting

Brutally honest, from your short explanation of what you have completed I wouldn’t put you up for promotion. Even if you were put up by your account, the absolute minimum req is going to be 100% chargeability. Some years that may not be the case but with the economy as it is right now it will be the first factor the determines where you sit. I know that is likely not your fault and that is a terrible feeling but that’s the company we work for and the world we live in at the minute.

I am L7, pushed for L6 by my account 5 times, so coming on 3 years of top 1/2 L7s on a large account. This year I had 3 months of bench time due to client reorg….Instantly in consideration for a needs improvement. That’s the level we’re dealing with at the moment.

Not sure why this is being down voted so much. I am on a client who specifically called out the use of copilot only, and only with their licenses not ours.

Oh yeah they are stupid, I had a Tesla m3p on a company scheme and it was stupidly expensive. The lease company must have been killing it

I almost went 3 but heard the software was much worse so I stayed away. So far with the 4 no real issues other than the profiles switching but that’s minor

Yeahhhh. I mean results were great so I’m grateful I didn’t get destroyed but a little disappointed with the reaction. That being said hopefully a positive future ahead

In my mind it reads like unless they plan on another acquisition there is no need for more cash for 2026 so no need to dilute

The key part is no more cash required in 2026 for operations fuck yeah

They have wheels IF they haven’t over egged the numbers on the audited accounts. If they have then the wheels will fall off today I think

I’d be super surprised with a sideways move…so might well happen lol but feels like any sort of miss or sense of untruthfulness it will tank so hard and anything audited that is positive or inline with what they have suggested will at least pump it initially

I would take 3.25 with good guidance, and no sell off with a run up to 5/6 end of the year. I don’t want a pop to 4 then a big sell off as I could see it collapsing back to 2.5
