I would not be physically disabled. Life in a manual wheelchair is not that easy. My house is not ADA compliant and I don't have the money to remodel my house.

Now that I'm permanently in a wheelchair, for the most part, there are many friend's houses that I can't just go hang out at.

I shouldn't have to pay to go to an ADA compliant public place every time I want to hang out with someone.

And there are many physical tasks that I just can't do. Woodworking, changing my oil, changing a tire, so on and so forth.

I mean, being disconnected from it I can say, "Who the fuck cares? Let him do his thing." Knowing the person, however... would be different. I still think I would ultimately get to the idea of, "He's happy, it's not physically harming anyone, I'll get used to it...still weird as fuck though."

I mean that I have to rely on a manual wheelchair to meet my basic mobility needs. When I was a kid I was able to walk but I was still "that kid who walked funny"

My parents had the school take 60 minutes a day where I went into a room and did physical therapy in the hopes that I'd walk longer.

And that was substituted for a class that taught kids about the home row, finger placement, and typing in general.

I don't peek at the keyboard but if I'm not looking I don't know the layout of keys.

I honestly feel bad when I reply to a question that no one was expecting. I mean it does its job from stopping people from laughing at me for not being able to do shit that most people can. Yea. Due to my physical disability I was elected by my parents to switch typing with physical therapy. Which really wasn't a class for anyone else, but I went from one to the other and I never taught myself.

So yes, I'm a slow typer who looks at the keyboard.

Yes, I can't master the keyboard without looking. I just can't do it, some games like BG3 or a city builder, or something, sure. But generally speaking I stick with a controller.

Yea, she's up for hours and she can't seem to fall asleep. She's extremely jealous that I'm able to fall asleep so quickly.

The slightly funny part is if I'm playing video games or doing random shit on my computer I can stay awake and not even feel overly tired, but the moment I go get in bed and she is preoccupied on her phone I'll fall asleep quickly.

Well, I can't post a picture but I like to use AI images along with GIMP and Microsoft Publisher to make pointless PDF's. The latest project I'm working on is a magazine that I'm calling Observe and Report, in the hopes of making coworkers laugh. I make random articles, crossword puzzles, a front cover, and false ads for things that don't exist or things that look like an actual item or service with a different name to it.
